질적 메타분석을 통해 살펴본 북한이탈여성의 경험

국문 초록

본 연구는 북한이탈여성의 삶의 경험을 경험과정, 개인적-사회적 경험, 남한사회 정착관련 요인을 중심으로 심층적으로 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 24편의 질적 연구를 대상으로 질적 메타분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 북한이탈여성 삶의 경험과정은 북한이탈 이전과 이후로 크게 나누어지며, 북한에서의 경험, 북한 이탈 이후 제3국을 포함한 탈북과정에서의 경험, 남한 입국 이후 경험으로 나누어진다. 이 3가지 경험의 과정 범주는 그 환경적, 상황적 맥락이 아주 이질적이어서 하나의 맥락이나 공통적인 맥락으로 이해하고 분류·분석하기 어렵다. 북한이탈여성의 삶의 경험은 시간의 흐름과 삶의 장의 변화가 특징이다. 하지만 그들의 내면적 경험은 시간과 장을 아우르고 있으며 하나의 전체적인 인간으로서 내면의 경험이 이어지고 있다. 둘째, 3개의 이질적인 삶의 장에서의 개인적-사회적 경험 주요개념을 살펴보면, 북한에서는 출신성분 및 가부장적 문화, 경제난과 가장 역할, 지옥세계와 생계형 범죄, 가족 붕괴, 인권유린이었다. 북한이탈 과정에서는 불안한 도피와 차별(불법이민자), 심리적 위축과 PTSD, 빈곤 속 상품화된 여성, 가족해체와 재구성이었다. 한국 입국 이후는 남한정착 과정의 요인과 남한 사회정착이었다. 셋째, 남한사회 정착은 다시 시작하는 (여성으로서) 삶, 고통의 계속(외상), 노후와 미래불안, 적응보다 존재적 욕구, 외상 후 성장이었으며, 남한사회 정착관련 요인은 울타리, 장벽과 방해, 강점과 노력이 상호작용하고 순환적으로 영향을 미친다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the life experiences of North Korean refugee women in depth, focusing on the experience process, personal-social experiences, and factors related to settlement in South Korean society. To this end, a qualitative meta-analysis was conducted for 24 qualitative studies. The research results are as follows. First, the life experience process of a female North Korean defector is largely divided into before and after defecting from North Korean, and it is divided into the experience in North Korea, the experience in the process of defection, including experience in third countries after the departure from North Korea, and the experience after entering South Korea. These three experiences are very different in their environmental and contextual contexts, making it difficult to understand, classify, and analyze in one context or a common context. The life experiences of North Korean refugee women are characterized by the passage of time and changes in the places of life. However, their inner experience encompasses time and places and the inner experience as a whole human being continues. Second, looking at the main concepts of personal-social experiences in the three different places of life, in North Korea, the main concepts included the origins and patriarchal culture, economic difficulties and the role of the household head, hell world and livelihood crimes, family collapse, and human rights abuses. In the process of leaving North Korea, it was about uneasiness from escape and discrimination (against illegal immigrants), psychological disturbance and PTSD, commodification of women in poverty, and family disorganization and reorganization. After entering Korea, it was about the factors in the process of settling in South Korea and social settlement in South Korea. Third, the settlement of South Korean society was about re-starting life (as a woman), lasting pain (trauma), aging and future anxiety, existential need rather than adaptation, and post-traumatic growth. For the factors related to settlement in South Korean society, fences, barriers and obstacles, strengths and effort interact and influence with each other cyclically.
