코로나19 이후 시대, 미술을 통한 일상성 회복의 의미 연구

국문 초록

2019년 12월 중국 후베이성 우한에서 발생한 신종 코로나 바이러스 감염증 확산으로 전 세계는 그 어느 때 보다 불안정성과 불확실성의 상황에 직면해 있다. 감염병 장기화가 초래한 상시적 재난으로 일상성의 위기가 전면화되는 가운데 위태로운 일상성 회복의 유의미한 매개로 미술의 가치가 재조명되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 일상성의 재맥락화, 재배열화, 재가치화를 통해 일상성의 재구축 가능성을 타진해 온 피에르 위그의 미술 실천을 중심으로 보건 위기의 시대, 미술을 매개로 한 일상성 회복의 실천 의미를 검토하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 우선 본 연구는 일상성의 개념과 미술에서의 일상성 재현의 시각을 윤리적, 이상적, 낭만적 측면에서 검토하였다. 그 다음 본 연구는 코로나19 이후 시대 일상성의 위기와 회복에 관한 관심을 미술계의 주목할 만한 실천 사례를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 본 연구는 비선형적 서사, 비순차적 시간, 비주체적 위계를 중심으로 위태로운 일상성의 해체와 재구축 그리고 전유 가능성을 탐문해 온 피에르 위그의 미술 실천을 검토하였다. 이상을 통해 본 연구가 검토한 코로나19 이후 시대 미술을 통한 일상성 회복의 의미는 다음과 같다. 첫째 회복의 미술은 기존의 익숙한 일상성의 복원이 아닌 성장과 축적의 일상성을 새롭게 사유할 기회 제공한다는 데 의미가 있다. 둘째, 회복의 미술은 현재의 불안한 일상성에 적응이아닌 고립과 단절의 일상성을 다르게 구축할 계기 마련한다는 데 의미가있다. 셋째, 회복의 미술은 미래의 낙관적 일상성의 상상이 아닌 연대와 포용의 일상성을 온전히 전유할 상황을 구축한다는 데 의미가 있다.

영문 초록

Due to the spread of COVID-19 that occurred from Wuhan, Hubei, China in December 2019, the world has encountered more instability and uncertainty than ever. Since the constant disaster by this prolonged infectious disease made the crisis of everydayness become widespread, the value of art is being reassessed as a meaningful medium for the resilience of everydayness. Accordingly, this study attempts to review the practical meaning of the resilience of everydayness with art as a medium in the era of the health crisis with special reference to the art practice of Pierre Huyghe. Huyghe probed the possibility of the reconstruction of everydayness by means of re-contextualization, re-arrangement and revaluation of everydayness. For this purpose, this study examines the concept of everydayness and the perspective of representation of everydayness in art from ethical, ideal and romantic aspects. It then examines a practical case in the art world for the crisis of everydayness and the interest in the resilience of everydayness in this Post COVID-19 era. Finally, this study examins the art practice of Pierre Huyghe who has investigated the deconstruction and reconstruction of everydayness and its possibility of appropriation focusing on non-linear narratives, nonsequential time and non-subjective hierarchy. The meaning of the resilience of everydayness through art in the Post COVID-19 from this study is as follows. Firstly, the art of resilience is meaningful in that it does not restore our familiar and conventional everydayness, but provides an opportunity to think everydayness of possession and accumulation in a fresh way. Secondly, the art of resilience is meaningful in that it gives a chance to construct the everydayness of isolation and disconnection rather than the adaptation of current unstable everydayness. Thirdly, the art of resilience is meaningful in that it constructs the situation in which the everydayness of solidarity and inclusion can be constructed rather than an imagination of future optimistic everydayness.
