기업특성과 전략적 원가관리기법이 중소기업의 경영성과에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 중소기업을 대상으로 전략적 원가관리기법의 도입과 사용정도에 관한 기업특성을 파악하고, 생산속성과 성과평가시스템 속성을 포함하여 전략적 원가관리기법의 사용정도가 경영성과에 미치는 구조적인 영향을 분석하였다. 연구결과에 따르면 중소기업의 조직혁신성과 차별화전략은 전략적 원가관리기법의 사용정도에 영향을 미치지만 시장경쟁정도와 자동화수준은 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 분석되었다. 전략적 원가관리기법의 사용정도는 경영성과에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것이 아니라 원가절감과 품질개선 및 공정유연성의 생산속성과 비재무적성과지표의 활용에 의하여 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 파악되었다. 전략적 원가관리기법의 사용정도는 생산속성에 유의한 영향을 미치며, 이와 같은 생산속성은 또한 경영성과에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되므로 전략적 원가관리기법의 사용정도는 생산속성의 향상을 통하여 경영성과의 개선에 기여하는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 전략적 원가관리기법의 도입에 따른 비재무적성과지표의 사용이 증가함에도 불구하고 비재무적성과지표의 사용증가에 따른 경영성과의 증가는 나타나지 않고 있다. 이는 중소기업의 실질적인 성과관리시스템 운영방식에 대한 문제점으로 지적될 수 있다. 이상의 연구결과는 개별기업의 특성에 적합한 원가관리시스템을 구축하기 위한 실무적인 지침으로서 중소기업의 실질적인 경영성과의 개선방안을 도출하는데 널리 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This paper grasps firm characteristics that affect introduction and usage of strategic cost management techniques and analyzes the structural influence of techniques on business performance by including attributes of individual firm s production and performance evaluation system. According to results, the innovative organization characteristic and the differential strategy of small and medium sized firms are significant factors of the usage of strategic cost management techniques. On the other hand, both market competition and automation level are no significant impact on the usage of strategic cost management techniques. The usage of strategic cost management techniques gives no direct impact on business performance but significant indirect impact on the performance through production attributes such as cost cut, quality improvement, and increase in process flexibility and also through the usage of non financial performance indices. The usage of strategic cost management gives significant effect on production attributes and production attributes also give significant effect on the business performance. Consequently the usage of strategic cost management techniques may contribute to performance increase through the improvement of production attributes. It is analyzed that the usage of strategic cost management techniques increases utilizing non financial performance index but business performance increase is not followed by. This result could be caused by substantial operating problems of performance management system of small and medium sized firms. Overall results of this study would be practical guides of constructing a suitable cost management system of individual company and be useful for developing ways of substantial performance increase.
