적응집락추출에 의한 보정추정에 대한 연구

국문 초록

적응집락추출은 Thompson(1990)에 의해 제안된 추정방법으로 광범위한 지역에 소규모로 산재해 있는 희귀 동식물의 개체수 추정을 위해 초기표본을 기반으로 특정조건을 만족하는 개체들을 조사과정에서 표본에 포함시켜 추정하는 방법이다. 적응집락 추출법은 희귀동식물과 같이 소규모 군락을 이루며 넓게 존재하는 경우 초기에 표본으로 선택된 단위들 중 특정한 조건을 만족하는 단위의 이웃한 단위들까지 표본에 포함되므로 최종표본으로부터 모집단을 추정할 수 있다는 장점이 있기 때문에 희귀 동식물에 대한 연구에서 유용한 방법으로 알려져 있다. 하지만 적응집락추출은 최종표본에 포함된 단위들의 관측값에 의존적이므로 초기표본에 따라 추정량의 변동이 크게 나타난다는 단점이 있는 것으로 지적되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 적응집락 추출에 대한 HT추정량 보다 더 로버스트한 방법으로 Deville and Särndal(1992)이 제안한 보정 방법을 적용하여 보조변수를 이용하여 가중치를 보정한 새로운 추정량과 관측값에 의존하는 기존의 적응집락 추정량간의 효율성을 가상의 자료를 이용한 모의 실험과 더물어 실제 자료를 이용하여 비교하였다.

영문 초록

Adaptive cluster sampling suggestsed by Thompson (1990), is an estimation method for the number of rare animals and plants scattered on a small scale in a wide area individuals included in the sample satisfied a specific conditions during the survey based on the initial sample. The adaptive cluster sampling method has the advantage of being able to estimate the population from the final sample, as the sample includes even neighboring units of units that satisfy a specific condition among the units initially selected as a sample when they exist widely and form small communities like rare animals and plants. However, it is pointed out that the adaptive cluster sampling is dependent on the observed values of the units included in the final sample, so that the estimator fluctuates greatly depending on the initial sample. In this paper, as a more robust method, a calibration method was applied to compare the efficiency between a new estimator whose weights were calibrated using an auxiliary variable and an existing HT estimator dependent on observation values.
