영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of color on human scenic beauty evaluation in natural environments. The survey area was photo-sampled from the Ouchita National Forest of the US. The four hypotheses addressed the effect of color visibility of green, blue, yellow, and brown on the perceived scenic beauty in natural landscapes. The results of the multiple regression and Chow test suggested strong and consistent support, which was found for the proposition that green coloration in a natural landscape enhances scenic value, while moderate support was found for the hypothesis that brown coloration reduces this value. Also, season of the year had significant effect on the visibility of green, blue, yellow, and brown in natural landscapes. Therefore, color visibility affected the perceived scenic beauty of the natural scenes.
