The Anti-diabetic Effect of Ginseng in Experimental Diabetic Rats: Meta Analysis

영문 초록

The present study was carried out to summarize the effect of ginseng in the experimental diabetic rats by meta-analysis related studies. The association measure to test effect of ginseng was the standard mean difference(HG) between group of rats induced streptozotocin(STZ) and group of rats induced STZ treated with ginseng about the considered 10 effect factors. When the publication bias about combined HG of study was not considered, the level of food intake(FI), glucose, serum total glyceride(TG), glycogen and liver 3,4-methylenedioxyamphetamine(liver MDA) were significantly reduced(<0.05), and the level of glycogen was increased by treatment with ginseng(<0.01). After checking the indication of publication bias for the combined HG by using the funnel plot and Egger s linear regression test, the anti-diabetic effects of ginseng is clearly presented in glycogen (<0.05), but in FI, glucose, and TG were not significant(>0.05).
