국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 시각 장애인들을 위한 미술교육 프로그램을 만드는 것이다. 특히 감각(haptic)을 기르는데 중점을 두었다. 과거 미술교육에서는 시각(視覺, visual sense)을 전제로 한 미술교육 프로그램을 만들었다. 그 이후 시각 문화(visual culture)가 미술교육에 도입이 되었다. 그리고 근래에는 미술의 영역이 시각을 넘어 다른 감각(촉각, 청각, 후각)을 미술에 포함하고 있다. 이런 개념을 포함 것이 material culture 이다. 이 material culture에서 미술의 개념은 시각을 넘어 다양한 영역과 감각을 포함하고 있다. 이와 같이 ‘확장된 미술 개념’을 기반으로 미술교육에서도 시각적 능력이 다소 부족하거나 어려움을 겪고 있는 시각 장애인들을 위한 미술교육도 받아들여지고 있으며 그 필요성이 인정되고 있다. 같은 맥락에서 본 연구에서는 시각 보다는 ‘촉각’, ‘청각’을 위주로 한 미술교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 기존의 미술교육 프로그램은 정상안인(正常眼人: normal eyes) 미술교육자나 화가들의 입장에서 만들어진 것들이 많았다. 하지만 본 연구에서는 실제 시각 장애인과 장애인 교사들의 경험과 요구를 반영하여 개발하고자 하였다. 본 미술교육 프로그램은 시각 장애인들을 위해서 개발되었지만 일반 학생들에게도 충분히 적용 가능하고 교육적 의미가 있다. 앞으로 예술교육에서는 장애가 더 이상 걸림돌이 되지 않고 장애인을 위한 많은 프로그램과 교육이 활성화되기를 희망한다.

영문 초록

The object of this article is to make art education programs for the blind. In the past, most art education programs were made based on the visual sense. After that, visual culture was introduced into art education. The field of art has recently embraced other senses (tactile, auditory, and olfactory) in visual arts. This includes the concept of material culture. This material culture contains not only the concept of (visual) art but also various fields and senses. In this way, art education for the visually impaired, which lacks visual ability or difficulties in arts education, is accepted and recognized as a necessity based on the extended (visual) art concept . In the same context, this study developed an art education program focusing on tactile and auditory rather than visual sense. Previous art programs were made from the standpoint of art educators and painters who are normal. However, in this study, we developed the program reflecting the experiences and needs of teachers and students who are blind. In fact, the art program was applied to students with visual impairments and confirmed its educational effects. This art program was developed for the visually impaired but it is also applicable to general students and has educational significance. In the future, I hope that disability will no longer be a stumbling block in art education and that many programs and education for the disabled will be revitalized.
