학문목적 글쓰기를 위한 대학글쓰기 교육 방안

국문 초록

본 연구는 학문 목적 한국어 학습자의 글쓰기 능력을 제고하기 위하여 학문 목적 한국어 쓰기 교과 과정의 모형을 설계하는 데에 목적을 둔다. 대학에 입학한 외국인 한국어 학습자에게 한국어는 학습자가 학문적 텍스트를 이해하고, 새로운 내용지식을 구성하는데 필요한 학문 수학의 도구가 된다. 또한 상호 텍스트적 지식을 확보하고 학문적 성과를 발표하는 중요한 표현의 도구로서의 역할을 한다. 학문 목적 한국어 학습자가 논의의 대상으로 삼는 주제에 대해서 얼마나 깊이 있게 이해하고 있으며 또 그것을 어떻게 학문의 영역 안에서 확장할 수 있는지에 대한 평가는 온전히 학습자가 구성한 ‘학술적 텍스트’에 의존한다. 나아가 학습자는 자신이 구성한 학술적 텍스트를 통해 과제를 수행하고 소통의 기술을 발전시킬 수 있다. 이에 본고에서는 학술적 쓰기 능력을 제고하기 위한 학문 목적 한국어 쓰기 교육의 모형을 제시하고자 한다. 기존에 제시되었던 장르 기반 쓰기 교수법을 중심으로 하여 과제 중심과 과정 중심의 교육 과정을 절충한 소통 중심 교육 모형을 제시함으로써 학습자가 쓰기 과제의 수행을 위해 어떻게 다양한 쓰기 전략을 개발하고 적용할 수 있는지를 살펴보고, 교사자의 통제와 유도를 최소화하는 쓰기 교육 과정을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 새로운 학문목적 글쓰기의 수업 모형이 갖는 특징과 수업 효과에 대하여 기술하고, 설계된 교육 과정의 진행 과정과 읽기-쓰기의 통합적 과제 수행, 토론과 발표라는 활동의 과정에서 학습자간 토론과 발표가 갖는 쓰기의 교육적 효과에 대해 기술하고자 한다. 이로써 읽기-쓰기 통합 교육과 학습자간 토론과 발표를 통해 학습자가 학문목적 글쓰기의 목적과 텍스트 유형에 따라 다양한 쓰기전략을 사용할 수 있도록 창의적 쓰기 역량을 키우는 수업 모형을 제시하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study is to design a model of Korean writing curriculum for the academic purpose in order to improve the Korean learner s academic writing skill. For the foreign Korean learners who entered the university, Korean is an academic tool required to understand the academic text and acquire new knowledge. Korean also plays an important role of being the medium of expression to have mutual text-based knowledge and present the result of studies. An evaluation on how much the Korean learners for the academic purpose understand about a subject of debate and how to widen their understanding within the scope of learning entirely depends on the “academic text” constructed by the learners. Further, the learners can perform tasks and develop the communication skills using their academic text. This paper proposes a model of the academic-purpose Korean writing class to improve the academic writing skill. In this paper, we examine how to develop and apply various writing strategies for the learners in performing the writing project by proposing a communication-oriented education model, which is a compromise between project-oriented and course-oriented curriculums focusing on previous genre-based writing teaching method, and suggest a writing course with minimized control and guidance of teachers. To this end, we describe features and effects of new academic writing class model, the progress of this designed educational course also the educational effects of writing in discussion and presentation between learners while performing an integrated reading-writing project, discussion and presentation. Lastly, we propose a class-model to improve a creative writing skill of the learners through integrated reading-writing class, discussion and presentation so that they can use various writing skills depending on the purpose of academic writing and type of text.
