대학 과학교양교육을 위한 실험수업의 필요성과 효율적 운영방안

국문 초록

본 연구는 4차 산업혁명기 과학교양교육의 목표 달성을 위해 실험교과목이 필요함에도 불구하고 관련 강좌를 운영하는 대학이 부재한 국내 현황에 대해 개괄한 후, 이의 개선을 위해 과학교양실험수업의 필요성과 교과목 개발에 유의해야할 사항에 대해 설명하고, 나아가 효율적 운영에 필요한 정책 방안을 모색하고자 이루어졌다. 이론연구를 통해 실험수업이 갖는 의미와 역할에 대해 설명하고 서울시립과학관의 <모두를 위한 분자생물학>강좌를 참여관찰한 후 강의 자료와 수강생 설문내용을 토대로 강좌의 효율성에 미치는 요인들에 대해 분석하였다. 또한 사례조사를 통해 교과목 운영과정에 야기되는 행정절차상의 문제점에 대해서도 정리하였다. 연구결과 실험수업의 효율적 운영을 위해 수업의 난이도 조정, 숙련된 교수자 확보와 교재개발, 평가방식 전환, 거점시설 연계를 통한 실험학점이수제 도입 등을 적극 고려해야한다고 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explain necessity of experimental practice and the matters that should be kept in mind for the course development, to seek policy measures for efficient operation after it outlines the current status of the absence of universities that run related courses despite of the need for experimental courses to achieve the goal of science liberal arts education during the 4th Industrial Revolution. The meaning and role of the experimental class were explained through the theoretical research and factors affecting the effectiveness of the course was analyzed based on the lecture data and the questionnaire for the students after performing participant observation in the lecture at the Seoul Science Center. It also summarizes the problems of administrative procedures through case study. As a result of the study, it was suggested that the degree of difficulty should be adjusted and the factors such as mobilization of skilled instructors, change of evaluation method, and introduction of experimental credit system through linkage with base facilities should be considered.
