조선간행 잡지의 ‘해양성’

국문 초록

일제강점기 경성에 거주한 재조일본인에 의해 창간된 일본어잡지 『조선급만주』와 『조선공론』은 일본의 식민지통치에 부합하는 커뮤니티로써 재조일본인사회의 대변지 역할을 하는 한편 식민지조선에 관한 제반적인 정보를 제공했다. 조선간행 일본어잡지의 일본제국주의 팽창정책에 조선을 거쳐 대륙진출의 과정에서 해양은 그 접점으로 필연적 요소였다. 조선간행 일본어 잡지의 ‘해양성’은 조선과 일본의 자연환경이나 일상에서 불가피한 삶의 공간으로써 이에 관한 제반적인 정보에서 출발했음을 알 수 있었다. 조선간행 일본어잡지는 궁극적으로 재조일본인의 이익을 대변하면서 본국의 일본인들에게 조선이주의 안내서 취지로, 해양자원의 실태와 조항, 유통, 어업정책 등 게재해 실업 자료로서 주목받았다. 대륙진출을 위해 식민지역의 자본주의화에 집중했던 일제는 조선의 수산자원에 역점을 두었고, 이에 조선의 지역별 수산현황과 연안무역, 항만 등의 인적·물적 자원의 이동에 관한 해양서사로 나타났다. 일제의 대륙팽창주의 식민지정책은 만주를 발판으로 러시아 진출을 도모했으나 지형적 요건과 풍토병, 철도수송 등 저해요소에 따른 농산물과 광물은 부원자원으로서의 한계에 직면해 선박수송을 통한 유럽시장으로 판로를 개척했다. 일제는 동북아해역을 중심으로 태평양, 대서양 등 국경을 초월한 해양거점을 구축해 갔다. 여기에 초국적 해양네트워크를 근간으로 식민지의 특수한 상황에 놓인 조선인의 경험, 이동, 정착과정이 나타났다. 식민자 커뮤니티의 해양테마가 서사화되는 양상은 식민지근대사회의 역사와 문화, 문학 자료의 근간이 되었다. 조선간행 일본어잡지의 해양서사연구는 일제의 통치에 따른 초국적 이동과 경험을 통해 식민지 조선의 전시대를 종단하여 사회·문화 변동 흐름을 파악함으로써 식민지 미디어의 역사적·사회적·문학적 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The Japanese magazines Chosun and Manchuria and Chosun Public Opinion, which were published by Japanese Japanese living in Gyeongseong during the Japanese colonial period, served as a representative of Japanese Japanese society as a community consistent with Japanese colonial rule. In the Japanese magazine published in Chosun, the Japanese imperialism expansion policy, through the Joseon Dynasty, the ocean was inevitably the point of contact. “Marine Ocean” in the Japanese magazine published by Joseon is an inevitable space of life in the natural environment and everyday life of Joseon and Japan. The Japanese magazine, which was published in Chosun, ultimately represented the interests of Japanese citizens, attracted attention from Japanese people in their home countries as a guide to Joseon emigration and the status of marine resources, provisions, distribution and fishery policies as unemployment data. The Japanese colonialism, which focused on capitalization of colonial regions for the advancement of the continent, focused on the marine resources of Joseon. As a result, maritime narratives of the regional fisheries, coastal trade, and port and port human resource movements of Korea were represented. The Japanese colonial policy of continental expansionism attempted to advance to Russia based on Manchuria. However, in the face of limitations as subsidiary resources, agricultural products and minerals due to the topographical requirements, endemic diseases, and railway transportation, pioneered the market into the European market through ship transportation. As the center of the Northeast Asian Sea, Japan built a cross-border maritime network such as the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. Here, based on the transnational maritime network, the experiences, movements and settlements of Koreans in colonial situations were presented. The narrative of the maritime theme of the colonial community became the basis of the history, culture, and literature of colonial modern society. In short, the study of maritime narrative of Japanese magazine published in Joseon has the historical, social, and literary significance of colonial media by grasping the social and cultural fluctuations by terminating the wartime colonial Joseon through transnational movements and experiences under Japanese rule.
