무예를 테마로 한 충주시의 도시브랜드 이미지 개선 방안 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 무예의 메카를 표방하고 있는 충주시에서 개최되고 있는 무예관련 행사(충주무술축제, 세계무예마스터십)에 대해 살펴보았다. 충주시의 도시 브랜드 이미지와 연관시켜 지역축제 기대요인과 행사이미지를 바탕으로 시민들이 가지고 있는 무술관련 행사에 대한 인식과 태도, 그리고 참여 및 추천 의도에 대해 온라인 설문조사를 수행하였다. 설문결과 충주시에서 개최하는 무예관련 행사에 대해서 관광자원으로서의 기대가 높았고 무예의 도시로서 이미지의 적합성에 대해서도 긍정적이었으며 이들 행사들이 충주시의 고유한 브랜드로서 활약할 수 있을 것으로 기대하였다. 반면, 세계적으로도 찾아보기 힘든 콘텐츠를 보유하고 있으나 그 콘텐츠를 발굴하고 개선하여 지역민들의 호응과 참여를 유도하고 대외적인 인지도와 호의적인 이미지를 구축하는데 있어 많은 노력이 필요할 것임을 또한 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

In this study, we investigated martial arts-related events (Chungju Martial Arts Festival, World Martial Arts Masterships) held in Chungju City. We conducted an online survey for the martial arts-related events to investigate the awareness and attitude with the event image(EI) factor, then the intention of participation and recommendation. As a result, expectations for martial arts-related events were high as tourism resources, and the fitness of images between martial arts and the city were positive. Although those events possesses unique contents that are hard to find anywhere in the world, it has been shown that it will take a considerable amount of time and effort to successfully build the awareness and favorable image to Chungju City’s Brand and to develop and improve its given contents in order to encourage the locals to respond and participate in the event.
