카드뉴스 감상을 통한 비판적 사고력 신장 방안 모색

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 고학년을 대상으로 카드뉴스 감상을 통해 사회적 이슈를 인식시키고, 비판적 사고력을 신장시키는 방안에 대한 연구이다. 미술 교과의 특성을 고려하여 사회 문제를 시각적으로 조직하는 카드뉴스를 비판적으로 감상해야 할 대상으로 선정하였으며, 학습자의 비판적 사고력을 신장시키기 위한 지도방안을 롤랑바르트의 의미해석 단계를 적용하여 개발하고 도출하였다. 연구 결과, 학습자의 사회 문제에 대한 관심도와 비판적 사고력의 사실적 논리적 이념적 차원이 향상되었으며, 카드뉴스 속 이미지 감상 능력 및 흥미도가 신장된 것으로 나타났다. 시각문화를 비판적으로 받아들이고 문제를 인식해 사고하는 능력은 날마다 이미지를 소비하며 살아가는 학습자에게 필수적인 능력이다. 이에 본 연구는 학습자의 삶과 밀접한 관련이 있는 카드뉴스를 시각문화의 영역으로 포함하여 미술감상 교육의 소재로 활용 가능성을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

This study is a study of ways to recognize social issues through card news appreciation for senior elementary school students and to enhance critical thinking skills. Considering the characteristics of the art class, the card news that visually organizes social issues was selected as a target to be critically appreciated, and a measure to enhance the critical thinking power of learners was developed and derived by applying the semantic analysis step of Roland Bart. The study found that the student s interest in social problems and the realistic level, logical level and ideological level of critical thinking power were improved, and that the ability and interest in image appreciation in card news was enhanced. The ability to critically accept visual images and think through recognizing problems is an essential skill for learners who live by consuming images every day. Therefore, this study is meaningful in that it suggested the need for education of appreciation by including card news, which is closely related to the learner s life, as the domain of visual culture.
