뮤지엄에서의 VTS 교사교육에 대한 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구는 미국과 한국의 교차 문화적 경험들을 기초로 뮤지엄에서 VTS(Visual Thinking Strategies) 교사교육의 의미와 그 발전 방향을 분석적 자문화기술지의 형태로 고찰하였다. VTS 교사교육은 교사의 비주얼 리터러시를 신장하며 교육적 실천에 대한 반성적 사고를 지향한다. 발전 방향으로는 첫째, 국가공통기준에 기반한 통합 교육을 지향하며, 둘째, 교육프로그램은 구성주의적으로 조직되어야 한다. 셋째, 뮤지엄과 학교를 연계하는 공간으로서, 교사교육은 실천공동체의 현장을 추구하며, 넷째, 교사들의 정체성에 기반한 반성적 사고를 실천해야 한다. 이를 통해 VTS 교사교육은 교사들의 독창적 교육 실천을 독려하고, 관용적 미술교육의 장을 확립할 수 있다. 그 과정에서 다양한 인적자원과 기관의 협력은 필수적이며, 학생들의 시각적 사고력과 비주얼 리터러시 신장이 가능할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to find ways to develop VTS teacher education in museums. For analysis, we examined our cross-cultural teacher education experiences in the United States and South Korea. VTS teacher education aims to develop teachers visual literacy which makes viewers read objects in the context and reflective thinking about their education practice. Based on analytic auto-ethnography as a method, we assert elements that can be implemented through VTS teacher education in the museum as below: First, an art integration education based on Common Core. Second, a constructively organized education program that can facilitate participants. Third, a field of practice of community which can link museums and schools. Fourth, the practice of reflective thinking based on the identities of teachers. Through this development, VTS teacher education can facilitate teachers brilliant education practice and settle the field of generous art education. In the process, the collaboration among human resources and institutes will be needed. Ultimately, it can enhance the visual thinking and visual literacy of students.
