기술적 문제해결에서 학습자의 아이디어 탐색에 대한 근거이론적 연구

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 근거이론에 의한 사례 분석에 기초하여 기술적 문제해결의 두 번째 단계인 아이디어 탐색 단계에서 학습자가 아이디어를 탐색하는 과정에 관한 이론을 도출하는 것이었다. 이를 위해, 학습자 60명이 기술적 문제해결 활동 후 작성한 과정 기록지를 분석하여 개방코딩, 축코딩, 선택코딩한 후 상황모형을 구성하였다. 코딩 결과, 아이디어 탐색 과정은 시작, 전개, 종료의 순으로 진행되었으며 시작의 단계에서는 문제 이해 단계의 결과인 문제해결 자신감과 문제해결 접근 성향의 영향으로 그에 따른 아이디어 탐색 자신감과 아이디어 접근 성향을 가지고 출발하였다. 전개의 단계에서는 스스로 아이디어 탐색 목표를 설정하였으며 아이디어 생성과 선정의 과정이 진행되었다. 이때, 학습자의 아이디어 표현 능력도 주요한 영향을 미쳤다. 종료 단계에서는 시작과 전개 과정의 결과로 실현 자신감이 형성되었고 이를 바탕으로 다음 단계인 실현 과정이 진행되었다. 이 연구의 결과를 통하여 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학습자의 아이디어 탐색 과정은 이전 단계인 문제 이해 과정의 결과에 영향을 받고 있었다. 이를 통해, 학습자의 세부 활동 내용에 따라 구분된 기술적 문제해결의 각 단계는 유기적으로 연관되어 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 근거이론에 의한 사례 분석을 통하여 아이디어 탐색 과정에서 학습자의 내면적 과정을 세밀하게 분석할 수 있었다. 이 연구에서는 패러다임 모형과 상황모형을 구성함으로써 아이디어 탐색의 중심현상인 아이디어 생성에 작용하는 인과적 조건, 맥락적 조건 그리고 아이디어 생성에 대한 중재적 조건과 작용 전략 등의 세부 요인을 파악할 수 있었다. 이를 통해, 아이디어 탐색에서 어떠한 학습자의 내적 요인 및 능력이 작용하는지를 명확히 하였으며 결과적으로 교수·학습 과정에서 교수자가 고려해야 할 학습자의 특성을 가시적으로 확인할 수 있게 하였다. 이 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 다음과 같이 제언한다. 첫째, 도출된 이론을 통하여 실제 수업에서 학습자의 아이디어 탐색 과정에 도움을 줄 수 있는 수업 전략 개발에 관한 후속 연구가 요구된다. 둘째, 아이디어 탐색 이후의 각 단계에 대하여 근거이론적 접근 분석이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to derive a theory about the process of the learner searching for ideas in the idea search stage, which is the second stage of technological problem solving, based on case analysis in light of grounded theory. To do this, 60 learners analyzed the process record sheets which were created after technological problem solving activities, and then constructed the situation model after open coding, axis coding, and selective coding. As a result of the coding, the idea search process proceeded in the order of starting, developing, and ending, and at the beginning, it started with the confidence of searching for ideas and the tendency of approaching ideas due to the influence of problem solving confidence and problem solving attitude which are the result of problem understanding stage. At the stage of development, the goal of the idea of search was set on its own, and the process of generating and selecting ideas proceeded. At this time, students’ ability to express ideas also had a major influence. In the final phase, realization confidence was formed as a result of the start-up and deployment process. The conclusions from this study are as follows. First, through the case analysis based on the grounded theory, the internal process of learners could be analyzed in detail in the process of searching for ideas. Second, the learner s idea search process was influenced by the result of the previous problem understanding process. Through this, it was found that each stage of technological problem solving divided according to learner s detailed activities is organically related. Third, since the ability to express ideas influenced the development of idea search, it would be necessary to apply appropriate teaching and learning methods for learners who are burdened with the expression of ideas. Based on the results of this study, the following suggestions are made. First, follow-up research is needed to develop instructional strategies that can help learner in their search for ideas in actual class through the derived theory. Second, we need a grounded theory approach analysis for each step after idea search.
