국문 초록

21세기에 들어서면서 인간은 이른바 제4차 산업혁명을 통한 급격한 변화의 시대에 직면하고 있다. 이 변화는 기존에 겪었던 제 1~3차 산업혁명과는 달리 인간의 삶의 양식에 근본적인 변화를 주고 있으며, 문학 영역 또한 마찬가지이다. 고전이 오늘날에도 꾸준히 관심을 받고, 여러 학자들의 연구 대상이 되는 이유는 바로 그것이 과거의 화석으로 굳어져 있는 것이 아니라 오늘을 살아가는 사람들에게 끊임없는 감동과 지혜를 주기 때문일 것이다. 본고는 이러한 시기에 인공지능과 고전문학의 융합 연구, 엄밀히 말해 고전문학 연구에 인공지능을 활용할 수 있는 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 우선 둘은 첨단기술과 전통문학이라는 점에서 이질적으로 인식될 수 있지만, 고전문학 속에 나타난 이야기를 통해서 양자 모두 인간의 상상력을 그 뿌리로 한다는 점을 확인하였다. 그리고 인공신경망 기계번역과 기계학습 도구의 두 가지 차원에서 인공지능의 활용 가능성과 필요성, 앞으로 보완해 나가야 할 점에 대해서 살펴보았다. 변화하는 시대에 맞는 새로운 문학 연구의 방법은 거스를 수 없는 흐름이 되었지만, 어디까지나 인공지능 연구과 그것의 활용은 인간이 중심이 되어 진행되어야 할 것이며, 이렇게 볼 때 인공지능을 활용한 고전문학 연구의 새로운 방법을 모색하는 것은 인문학의 위기 상황 속에서 오히려 그 영토를 확장할 수 있는 기회로 삼을 수 있다는 점에서 의미를 찾을 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

Entering the 21st century, humans are facing an era of rapid change through what is called the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Unlike the first and third industrial revolutions that we experienced, this change is fundamentally changing the way people live, and so is the literary realm. The classics are still in the spotlight today, and many scholars study them because they are not solidified as fossils of the past, but because they give constant emotion and wisdom to those who live today. At this point, this manuscript I wanted to find a way to use artificial intelligence for research into the convergence of artificial intelligence and classical literature and, technically, the research of classical literature. Both may be perceived as different in terms of high technology and traditional literature, but through the stories in classical literature, both confirmed that the imagination of human beings is rooted. In addition, the two dimensions of the artificial neural network translation, machine translation and machine learning tools, discussed the feasibility and necessity of artificial intelligence, and the future needs to be supplemented. The new methods of literature research that fit in the changing times have become an irreversible trend, but to the extent that artificial intelligence research and its use should be human-centric. Looking for new ways to study classical literature using artificial intelligence can be meaningful in that it can be used as an opportunity to expand the territory in the midst of a crisis in humanities.
