미술교육에서 ‘미술적 발달’ (artistic development)의 의미와 범주

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 교육이 개입된 ʻ미술적 발달ʼ에 대한 논의를 통해 열린 구조 속에서 미술적 발달의 범주를 밝힘으로써 미술 교과의 특수성과 교육적 가치를 더욱 확고히 하는 것이다. 기존 미술교육 분야에서 발달에 관한 연구는 대부분 발달을 선형적인 것으로 보았으며, 교육을 통한 발달이라기보다 자연발생적인 발달에 집중되어 있었다. 미술의 영역이 확장되고 미술교육의 연구 패러다임이 변화하면서 종적 발달에서 횡적 발달로 연구관점이 전환되었다. 본 연구에서는 미술과 사회의 변화에 따른 교과 교육으로서 미술교육의 방향을 설정하는데 고려 되어야 할 미술적 발달의 의미와 미술적 발달의 범주 다섯 가지를 제안하였다. 첫째, 미술 학습 동기의 발달, 둘째, 의도에 적합한 표현 정도의 발달, 셋째, 인지 과정의 변화, 넷째, 상징체계의 발명과 활용 정도, 다섯째, 변화의 역동성이다. 미술적 발달의 범주들은 미술교육의 가르침과 배움의 구조를 명확하게 해준다. 미술교육에서 미술적 발달에 대한 이해를 근거로 진정한 가르침과 배움의 구조를 만들어가는 것이 미술교육의 입지를 더욱 확고하게 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to further solidify the speciality and educational value of art teaching by illuminating the category of artistic development in an open structure through discussion of artistic development in which education is involved. The study of development in the field of existing art education mostly viewed development as linear and focused on natural development rather than development through education. As the area of art has expanded and the research paradigm of art education has changed, research views have shifted from longitudinal development to transverse development. In this study, we proposed five categories of artistic development and meaning of artistic development that should be considered in setting the direction of art education as a subject education in accordance with changes in art and society. First, development of art learning motive, second, development of degree of expression suitable for intention, third, change of cognitive process, fourth, degree of invention and utilization of symbol system, fifth, dynamic of change.
