국문 초록

이 글은 새로운 역사연구 방법론으로 자리 잡은 글로벌히스토리의 문제점들을 중국, 러시아, 한국의 시각에서 정리하는데 그 목적이 있다. 글로벌히스토리 연구의 중심을 이루고 있는 미국과 영국이 아니라, 그 주변부의 시각에서 새로운 세계사의 과제들을 고찰하는 것이 보다 객관적이고 실증적이기 때문이다. 이에 미국과 영국이 주도한 글로벌화의 변방에 있는 중국, 러시아, 한국에서 글로벌히스토리의 수용과정에서 나타난 논의들을 역사학과 역사교육의 측면으로 구분하여 살펴보았다. 한국과 접경하고 있는 중국과 러시아는 글로벌히스토리의 수용과 역사교육 분야에 이를 적용하는 과정에서 유사성과 차이점을 보이고 있었다. 중국은 2000년 포머란츠의 저작 대분기 발간 이후, 유럽과 중국이 대등한 비교대상이 됨으로써 글로벌히스토리의 수용이 순조롭게 진행되고 있는 반면, 러시아와 한국에서는 글로벌히스토리의 입지가 상대적으로 위축되어가는 상황이라 할 수 있다. 러시아의 경우, 마르크스-레닌주의 역사학의 전통이 강하게 남아 있는 상황에서 글로벌히스토리의 수용과정은 민족주의가 점차 득세하면서 서구 수입학문인 글로벌히스토리에 대한 저항이 강해지고 있다. 한국의 경우, 유럽중심주의는 자본권력의 담론이기 때문에 이에 대한 비판은 자본권력에 대한 비판이 중심이 되어야함에도 상호의존과 교류를 강조하는 글로벌히스토리의 한계를 지적하는 문제가 제기되고 있다. 따라서 한․중․러의 글로벌히스토리 수용을 둘러싼 논쟁들을 공통점과 차이점별로 비교, 정리하는 작업은 한국 서양사학계의 주요과제 중의 하나인 유럽중심주의 극복을 위한 방향 설정에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this article is to summarize the problems of Global History established as a new historical research methodology from the perspective of the periphery. This is because we paid attention to the fact that although the key to success of Global History depends on the relationship between historical studies and related studies, the center and the periphery, there has been almost no conversation, the core of the relationship between them. This is because although the success or failure of interdisciplinary research and the convergence study depends on the conversation and interaction between the relevant sectors, there are few studies about it. Thus, this study is to consider the following issues by examining Global History acceptance and transformation process in China, Russia and Korea, periphery countries located in the outer area of the western world around the U.S and U.K. We are to analyze 1) why the historical particularities of individual countries experience confrontation and conflict without converging in Global History and 2) to examine why two-way communication through the conversation between individual countries and civilization forming the framework of Global History establishment is difficult. This is because they are to find the cause of the conflict between the universality inherent in Global History and distinctiveness of the individual country’s history in the miscommunication arising from the absence of dialogue. 3) A moral problem of whether European imperialist countries can escape from moral responsibility or sins while not bringing up the relationship of coercion and exploitation in the past when terms of connection, access, comparison replacing the concept of conquest, exploitation, domination in the traditional world history are used in Global History is also the target of analysis. Because resistance to Globalization is getting stronger in the global studies of China, Russia, Korea and this tendency is not unrelated to this problem
