국문 초록

본 논문은 우리 역사 속에 그려진 단군의 초상을 살펴보고 그것이 지닌 의미가 무엇인가를 산출하는 것에 있다. 고조선 이후 단군 본격적으로 우리의 역사에 등장한 것은 사료에서 볼 때 고려 말 원의 간섭으로부터 자주성을 확보하기 위해 쓰인 『삼국유사』 및 『제왕운기』에서부터 살펴볼 수 있다. 하지만 그것은 어디까지나 불교의 관점 혹은 유교의 바탕위에서 쓰인 것으로 결코 단군 자체를 목적으로 두었다고 볼 수 없다. 이런 형태는 조선이 건국 된 이후에도 지속적으로 이어진다. 그 이유는 고려 및 조선이 가지는 패러다임이 우리의 고유에 것이 아닌 외래문화로부터 그 기원을 가질 수 있기 때문이다. 하지만 외래문화가 토착화되는 과정에서 우리문화의 집체원형의 본체가 침투됨으로써 그것의 화학적 성격이 변화되게 된다. 이때 침투된 문화집체원형이 바로 단군의 사유이다. 그러나 단군이 문화집체원형의 사유라 할지라도 이미 자리한 외래의 패러다임 앞에서는 단지 수단일 뿐 결코 목적으로 환원되지 못한다. 그러나 점차 외래문화의 한계가 들어남에 따라 문화집체원형으로서 단군이 드러나는 양상을 보이게 된다.

영문 초록
