『녀창가요록』서명 고찰 - 영남대학교 도남문고본을 중심으로

국문 초록

이 글은 영남대학교 도남문고에 소장된 순한글 필사본 『녀창가요록』을 소개하고, 이 필사본의 바른 서명을 고찰함과 동시에 이 서명이 의미하는 바를 밝혀 보고자 한 것이다. 지금까지 학계에 소개된 『녀창가요록』 이본에는 ‘도남문고본’이외에 ‘동양문고본’, ‘이혜구본’등이 있다. 이들 이본들을 바탕으로 선본(先本) 및 필사 연대, 그리고 창작 형태에 대한 이견들이 분분하다. 그 가운데서도 특히 흥미로운 것은 『녀창가요록』의 서명을 다양하게 명명하고 있다는 사실이다. 책의 표지서명이 ‘도남문고본’에서는 『女唱歌謠錄』, ‘동양 문고본’에서는 『女唱歌要錄』, ‘이혜구본’에서는 『녀창가요록』으로 책마다 다르게 표기되어 있기 때문이다. 그러나 이번 연구에서 영남대학교 ‘도남문고본’과 다른 이본들을 비교, 검토해 본 결과 다음과 같은 결론에 도달하였다. 첫째 , 곡조의 명칭 제시법과 수록된 가사의 필사 방식 등을 국어학적 측면과 서지학적 측면에서 검토해 볼 때 영남대학교 ‘도남문고본’ 『녀창가요록』은 ‘동양문고본’을 그대로 필사한 복사본이 아니다. 둘째, ‘도남문고본’ 『녀창가요록』과 ‘동양문고본’ 『녀창가요록』은 어느 한 이본이 다른 이본의 저본이 된 것이 아니라 다소의 시간 차, 혹은 지역 차를 두어 필사되었거나, 이전에 내려오던 책을 베껴 쓴 것이 아니라 다른 방법(청취 기록)으로 내용을 필사한 것으로 추정된다. 셋째, ‘도남문고본’『녀창가요록』의 필사 연대는 필사연대가 기록되어 있는 ‘동양문고본’이나 ‘이혜구본’보다 필사 시기는 이른 것으로 판단된다. 넷째, 다음과 같은 점들을 고려해 볼 때 서지학적 측면에서 서명은 『녀창가요록』이라고 명명하는 것이 바람직하다. (1) 필사된 가곡들은 가사뿐만 아니라 곡목까지도 모두 순한글로 표기하고 있다는 점 (2) 동일 내용들을 수록하고 있음에도 불구하고 이본들의 표제명이 일치하지 않는다는 점 (3) 이에 반해 모든 이본들의 권수제가 공통적으로 『녀창가요록』이라는 점 다섯째, 『녀창가요록』은 당시 여러 가지 가곡집에 실려 있던 ‘여창가(女唱歌)’ 가운데 필사자의 구미에 맞는 곡만 따로 모아 수록한 ‘가집 모음집’일 가능성도 배제할 수 없다.

영문 초록

This is to introduce 『Nyeochangga yorok』 housed in Donam library of Youngnam University and considering the correct title of 『Nyeochangga yorok』 by finding he chronological position of 『Nyeochangga yorok』 in ‘Donam mungobon’. By this time, the different versions of 『Nyeochangga yorok』 that were introduced to the academic world were ‘Dongyang mungobon’, ‘Lehyegubon’ as well as ‘Donam mungobon’, There are differing opinions about previous copies, the transcription eras and writing variety based on different versions. These opinions insist that ‘Dongyang mungobon,’ that is assumed to have been transcribed in 1870, is the most complete previous copy, so the different versions of 『Nyeochanggayorok』 deem that the manuscript copied the previous version, ‘Dongyangmungobon’, However, as the result of the comparison and review between ‘Dongyangmungobon’ and other copies, it comes to the following conclusion. First, by reviewing the presentation of melody names and copy ways of lyrics, it concludes that 『Nyeochangga yorok』 in ‘Donam mungobon’ is not the copy of ‘Dongyang mungobon’. Second, 『Nyeochangga yorok』 in ‘Donam mungobon’ and 『Nyeochangga yorok』 in ‘Dongyang mungobon’ are assumed to not be the original copy of one another, but are copied by time, or regional difference, or in other types not including the book. Third, it is assumed that the transcription era of 『Nyeochang gayorok』 in ‘Donam mungobon’ is in an earlier period than ‘Dongyang mungobon’ or ‘Leehyegubon’. Fourth, the book should be titled 『Nyeochangga yorok』 for the following reasons; (1) The copied melodies as well as song title are recorded all in pure Hangul. (2) In spite of containing the same contents, the titles of copies do not correspond to one another. (3) On the other hand, all of the titles of the first page of the different versions’ are 『Nyeochangga yorok』. Fifth, the meaning of 『Nyeochangga yorok』 is the Yeochangga(女唱歌) was pulled together and written, therefore ‘Nyeochangga yorok(女唱歌要錄)’ named in Chinese characters, is the correct title. Sixth, 『Nyeochangga yorok』 contains ‘Yeochangga(女唱歌)’ separately which were in the various collections of songs at that time, so it is named in the same meaning of ‘Yeochangyuchwi(女唱類聚)’, ‘Yeochangjil(女唱秩)’.
