중학교 과학 프로젝트 수업이 학생들의 문제해결력과 태도 및 흥미에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

이 연구는 과학 프로젝트 수업이 중학생들의 문제해결 능력과 태도 및 흥미에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여 경기도 소재 중학교 1학년 4개 학급, 166명을 대상으로 하여 이 중 2개 학급 81명을 통제집단으로, 나머지 2개 학급 85명을 실험집단으로 선정하는 사전사후검사 통제집단 설계를 사용하였다. 수업의 전후에 문제해결력에 대한 사전 검사와 사후 검사를 실시하여 비교·분석하였으며 수업 직후 실험집단 학생들을 대상으로 프로젝트 수업 및 과학에 대한 태도를 묻는 설문조사와 인터뷰를 하였다. 이 연구에서 설계된 프로젝트 수업은 교사가 Renzulli의 심화학습 3단계 모형에 따라 ‘과학 프로젝트 수업 설계 및 실행’이라는 자신의 프로젝트를 진행하면서 그 최종산출물로서 학생들의 과학 프로젝트 수업을 진행하는 방식으로 고안되었다. 과학 문제해결력에 대한 사전·사후 검사 결과 실험집단과 통제집단의 수업 처치에 따른 문제해결력에는 유의수준 .001에서 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 프로젝트 수업에서 학생들은 다양한 문제해결 도구의 활용을 흥미 있게 생각하였으며 이를 통해 프로젝트의 주제를 찾고 문제를 탐색하며 해결해 나가는 과정을 구체화 할 수 있었다

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of project based learning which is applied from one of talent education models, advanced 3step learning model developed by Renzulli in order to find the way to improve problem solving ability and attitude or interesting for science subject of middle school students and propose the use of the model to science class in middle school. For the study, 166 first grade students from 4 classes of middle school in Gyeonggido were selected and then divided into control group of 81 students in 2 classes and experimental group of 85 students in 2 classes. And control group had traditional learning and experimental group had project learning and then they were tested and analyzed for problem solving ability at the beginning and end of the test period. Shortly after having project learning, experimental group were asked to answer the questionnaire about project learning and 20 students of the group had interviews. The feature of project learning in this study was that teachers could conduct their own projects which is science project learning design and implementation by advanced 3step Learning model of Renzulli and the final result of those projects was proposed in the way to develop the science project learning of students. As a result, there was significant difference between experimental group and control group in problem solving ability. The students in experimental group had positive recognition toward the project learning and interest for science and self solving process and coaching instruction had positive effect to the interest of students.
