국문 초록

본고는 지금까지 학계에서 상대적으로 덜 주목되었던 충암 김정의 금강산 기행시를 주제별로 나누어 연구한 것이다. 충암 김정은 기묘명현으로 도학자로서의 뛰어난 기량 뿐 아니라 盛唐詩에 빼어난 자질을 보여준 문학가이다. 충암의 금강산 기행시 주제 연구에 앞서 기행 동기 및 작품현황을 살펴본 후 30여 수의 작품을 대상으로 나그네의 鄕愁, 淸澄한 세계로의 沈潛, 밝은 세상이 오기를 希求로 나누어 삶의 의식의 일단을 고구하였다. 나그네의 향수에서는 일찍부터 환로에 나갔다 유배와 해배의 아픔을 겪은 후 금강산 유람길에 고향과 어머니에 대한 그리움을 시적 제재로 활용하여 시화하였음을 살폈다. 청징한 세계로의 침잠에서는 세속을 떠나 맑고 깨끗한 마음으로 살고자 염원하였던 충암 김정이 금강산에서 여러 스님들과의 만남을 통해 은자로서의 삶의 지향을 경물에 기탁하여 시화한 작품들을 살펴보았다. 현실 참여 의식에서는 금강산의 장엄한 경관을 보며 경물을 읊는데 그치지 않고 인생을 돌아보며 도학정치의 이상실현을 위한 앞으로의 마음가짐을 형상화하였음을 살폈다. 충암의 금강산 기행시는 1차 유배기 후 정계에 복귀하기 전 불의한 현실에 대한 정치적인 심경과 은자로 표출되는 삶의 지향점, 현실 참여 의지를 통한 미래에 대한 계획 등 내면 의식이 잘 드러난 작품임을 고찰하였다. 김정의 시는 후세의 평론가들에 의해 극찬을 받았으나 작품 자체에 대한 면밀한 고증이 이루어지지 않았던 아쉬움을 금강산 기행시 연구로 계기를 삼고자 한다.

영문 초록

This thesis represents a topically categorized review of the poems that Kim Jeong with the pen name of Chungam created on his visits to Geumgangsan Mountain and which were previously less noticed by scholars. Kim Jeong was a man of letters who not only showed excellent qualities as a Dohak(Learning of the right path as a person) but also demonstrated superb skills for Tang Dynasty poetry. In this study, I explore a cross section of Kim Jeong’s perception of life by classifying his thirty or so Geumgangsan travel poems into traveler’s nostalgia, settlement into a world of cleanness and lucidity, and seeking the right world to come. In traveler’s nostalgia, as a person who began to work for the government early in his life and underwent banishment and return, he traveled to Geumgangsan, and his yearnings for hometown and mother that he felt on the occasion were adopted as the subject matter for his poems. As far as settlement into a world of cleanness and lucidity, I survey those poems that Kim Jeong who wanted to leave the mundane world and lead a life with a clean and clear heart created by tapping into the scenic views in Geumgangsan in a bid to express poetically his commitment to a life of a hermit through his meetings with several Buddhist monks. In social engagement, the poet did not stop at having zen meditation while contemplating the magnificent views of Geumgangsan; in retrospect, he described his determination toward realizing the ideal of Taoist politics. Kim Jeong’s Geumgangsan travel poetry excellently described his inner consciousness including his political musings on the unjustified actualities he had before he returned to the political arena following his first banishment, the objectives in his life as a hermit, and his future plans revealed through his commitment to social engagement. ’Kim Jeong’s poetry was highly acclaimed by later reviewers. As his works previously failed to receive a close examination to regrets, I want to try one on his Geumgangsan travel poems.
