공격성의 발현 및 통합에 대한 대상관계이론의 설명

국문 초록

이 연구는 청소년 비행의 핵심기제인, 공격성이 어떻게 발현되는가, 공격성이 적절히 통합되지 않는 경우 삶에 어떤 영향을 끼치는가, 공격성이 적절히 통합되기 위해 어떤 환경이 제공되어야 하는가에 대한 대상관계이론(Object Relations Theory)의 설명을 제시한다. 대상관계이론은 고전적정신분석학에서 발전되었으며, 인간행동의 발현과정을 태아기부터 설명하려는 시도를 통해 문제의 근원을 심도 있게 이해하는데 도움을 주는 정신분석학으로 각광받고 있다. 이런 목표를 달성하기 위해, 본 연구는 공격성에 대한 대상관계이론가들의 견해를 기술하고, 현대정신분석에서 가장 혁신적 이론가인 Winnicott의 광의의 공격성(삶의 본능)과 좁은 의미의 의도되지 않은 공격성(파괴본능)을 검토하였다. 공격성통합의 실패는 인격분열과 발달왜곡을 초래하며, 그 주요한 증상들은 거짓자기(인격)형성과 반사회적 행동들로 나타난다. 대상관계이론에 따르면, 이유 없는 파괴본능으로부터 견뎌내고 살아남도록 하기 위한 안아주기, 반영해주기, 전능환상충족, 현실감각 발달, 대상제공, 대상사용 및 놀이하기가 제공되는 촉진적 양육환경이 공격성을 통합하는데 도움이 될 수 있다. 인격 안에서의 공격성의 통합은 참자기의 삶으로 나아가게 만들어준다. 이 연구는 치료자들이 우울증과 거짓자기 인격을 드러내는 병리적 공격성과 관련된 내담자들을 치료하는데 도움이 될 것이다. 더불어, 청소년 비행과 관련하여 본 연구는 치료자들로 하여금 내담자들의 공격적인 행동들을 이해하고, 공격성을 통합하여 건설적인 삶을 살도록 돕는데 있어 어떤 방법을 어떻게 적용할 것인지를 보여준다.

영문 초록

This study is to explain on the revelation and integration of aggression and provide counselors with the way to help the clients integrate their aggression successfully. To achieve this purposes, this study explored the definition of aggression, the revelation and effects of aggression, and the ways of integrating aggression into personality. Finally, this study discussed the counselors’ roles to help clients overcome destructive instincts and integrate their aggression. According to the Object Relations Theorists, the failure of integrating aggression causes character split and developmental distortions, whose major symptoms are false-self personality formation and antisocial behaviors. To overcome these symptoms and form healthy personality, clients need facilitative nurturing environments. Facilitative nurturing environments consist of holding, omnipotent fantasy fulfillment, reality sense development, mirroring, object utilizing and providing, playing and spontaneity. Object utilizing to endure and survive from the ungrounded destruction instinct can be helpful for integrating aggression. Aggression integration into personality makes advance for the life of true self. This theoretical study may help therapists treat the clients who are in pathologic aggression revealing depression and false-self personality. This study, with regard to clients’ delinquency, may also show therapists how to understand the clients’ aggressive behaviors and help integrate aggression into healthy personality.
