국문 초록

본 연구는 현재 정부와 교육과학기술부가 원어민 영어 보조교사를 일선 학교교육에 투입시키는데 사용하는 막대한 비용을 절감할 수 있는 방안을 모색하기 위해 전라북도교육청과 호주 모나쉬대학교 간의 교류 협약에 의해 2006년부터 진행해 온 원어민 영어교육실습생의 한국 교육실습 프로그램에 한국인 지도교사로서 직접 참여하여 면접ㆍ인터뷰ㆍ저널ㆍ관찰ㆍ질문지 등을 통해 이루어졌다. 연구대상은 호주 모나쉬대학교 4학년에 재학 중인 교육실습생들이며 국내에 25일간 머무르는 기간 동안 실험ㆍ관찰하였고 연구기간은 사전 준비기간과 사후 연구기간까지 총 6개월에 걸쳐 이루어졌다. 연구자는 국내에 25일간 머무르며 한국 학교교육을 직접 체험해 본 원어민 영어교육실습생들을 연구해 본 결과 위의 프로그램의 효과성을 도출해 낼 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of team teaching with native English student-teachers from Monash University, Australia. This program has been conducted and designed to give native English student-teachers and Korean English teachers practical experience in teaching English by the alliance between the Monash University and Jeollabuk-do Office of Education since 2006. I took part in this exchange program 2007 to study the effects of the team teaching program as a participant worker. 13 Native English student-teachers and 13 Korean English teachers were selected for this study. It took six months, and was studied by the survey, interview, observation, journals, experiments, and recording. From the results of this study, it is concluded that the team teaching with native English student-teachers is very effective, efficient, and economic program.
