영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to find out the impact of involuntary migration to elderly people s health and social relations. Elderly people have emotional attachment to his(or her) home more than younger people do and they feel weakness of their physiological and physical function. These factors make them hard to adapt to the new surroundings by movement. Previous studies imply that social environment changes have a negative effect to elderly people s health because of their failure to adaptation. I carry out an interview to the elderly people who have experienced involuntary migration in the process of Byeollae New Town development. The interview shows that elderly people reach at a bad health condition after the involuntary migration. The main reasons of this result are loneliness and emotional depression because of failure to adaptation to surroundings. And idleness, lack of exercise and financial crisis are secondary reason of Byeollae New Town s elderly native. Conclusively, elderly people who have experienced involuntary migration because of New Town development need government assistant to maintain pre-existing social surrounding to adaptation in new place.
