국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 2015 개정 사회과 교육과정에서 통합을 강화하고 있음에도 통합형 수업에 관한 관련 경험이나 연구들이 부족한 현실에 대한 문제인식을 가지고 사회과 통합형 수업의 목표와 실행 방안을 체계적으로 제안하는 데 있다. 사회과의 주된 목적은 분과적 지식의 습득보다는 이를 수단으로 하여 민주 시민으로서의 자질을 함양하는 데 있지만, 통합형 수업의 목표나 실행 방안에 관한 연구는 거의 없는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 교육과정 및 관련 문헌 등의 분석을 토대로 사회과 통합형 수업의 구성 방안에 대해 다음과 같이 제안하였다. 첫째, 사회과 통합형 수업의 목표는 특정 주제에 대한 통합적 지식의 획득보다는 학습자가 통합적 사고를 직접적 으로 경험해보는 데 있어야 한다. 둘째, 프로젝트 학습과 같은 수업 방법을 활용하여 학생들이 통합적 사고를 체계적으로 발전시켜나갈 수 있도록 해야 한다. 학습자 각자의 통합적 사고를 깨우는 시작 단계, 프로젝트 활동 및 타인과의 협력을 통해 통합적 사고를 구체화시키는 수행 단계, 프로젝트 발표 및 공유를 통해 통합적 사고를 명료화하고 확장시키는 결과물 공유 단계 전반에 걸쳐 학생들이 자신의 통합적 사고를 인식하고 심화하며 확장시켜 나갈 수 있도록 안내할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

Conceived by the problematic consciousness that though lack of relevant experience or research on integrated social studies lesson, the Revised Social Studies Curriculum of 2015 put an emphasis on integration, this study set out to make a systematic proposal for the goals and implementation plans of integrated social studies lessons given based on the Curriculum. The main goal of social studies is to help the students cultivate their qualification as democratic citizens with the means of fragmented knowledge rather than acquire fragmented knowledge, but there have been few researches on the goals or implementation plans of integrated lessons. The present study thus proposed the following approaches to the organization of integrated social studies lessons based on the analysis results of concerned curriculums and literature: first, integrated social studies should set a goal of encouraging learners to have first-hand experiences with integrated thinking rather than integrated knowledge about certain topics; secondly, they should help the students develop their integrated thinking systematically by adopting such lesson methods as project learning. It is required to guide them to recognize, deepen, and expand their integrated thinking across all of the stages including the beginning stage, where individual learners awaken themselves to integrated thinking, the performance stage where they specify their integrated thinking through project activities and collaborations with others, and the outcome sharing stage, where they clarify and expand their integrated thinking through project presentation and sharing.
