국문 초록

자작행실록은 1930년에 논산시 양촌면 명암리에 거주했던 광산인 김고현 (1878-1943)이 지은 것으로 추정되는 장편 교훈가사 작품이다. 규장각본 초당문답의 내용을 전폭적으로 수용하여 창작한 가사로서, 오륜 행실 등의 내용을 통해 가족 구성원을 교훈하여 결속하고자 했고, 농사를 통해 치산을 모색하고자 했음을 알 수 있다. 자작행실록은 초당문답의 15편 작품과 비교할 때, <개몽편>, <역대편>, <낙지편>, <지기편>을 내용 수용에서 배제하였다. <부부편>과 <부인잠>을 합쳐 수용하고, <총론장> 은 <오륜편> <사군편> <부부편>+<부인잠> <장유편> 관련 내용에 분산 수용하고, <개몽 편> 뒤의 <우부편> <용부편>은 <경신편>의 뒤로 수용하였다. 그리고 초당문답에는 없는 <붕우편>을 새롭게 추가함과 아울러 <치산편>을 가장 비중 있게 다루었다. 즉, 작품의 내용은 <백발편>→<오륜편>+<총론장>→<사군편>+<총론장>→<부부편>+ <부인잠>+<총론장>→<장유편>+<총론장>→<붕우편>+<총론장>→<치산편>→<경신편>→ <우부편>→<용부편>의 순으로 전개되고 있다. 이는 초당문답가 류 가사의 어떠한 이본계열과도 유사하지 않게, 작품의 배열에 있어서 초당문답의 각 편을 남다른 순서로 수용 창작한 것으로 판단된다. 자작행실록은 초당문답을 다시 쓰기한 작자의 의도에 따라, 내용의 전개 순서를 바꾸거나, 같은 내용이되 말을 바꿔 쓰거나, 구절과 구절을 이어 붙이거나, 한 단어나 어미를 살짝 바꾸어 놓기도 하였다. 연작 가사를 독립된 한 편의 가사로 변용함에 있어서는, 각 편을 긴밀하게 연결하기 위한 구조적 장치로서 각 편을 이어주는 적절한 구절을 마련하였다. 또한, 진정성 있고 재미있는 표현을 위해 다양한 수사법을 활용하는 등 독자를 흡입할 수있는 문학적 기재를 작품 내에 마련하였다. 율조면에서 보면, 14종의 다양한 율조가 나타나고 있으나 그 중심에는 3 4조와 4 4조가 놓이는데, 각각 30.08%, 65.84%를 점유하고 있다. 자작행실록은 유학에 문외한이 아니라면, 누구나 공감할 수 있는 내용의 작품이다. 일제 강점기 속에서도 자신의 일가를 온전히 지키고, 나아가 좀더 부요해지기를 소망했던 작자의 절실한 심정을 규감하게 된다. 해당 가족의 구성원들에게는 특히 공감을 주어 집안을 크게 일 으켜야겠다는 의욕을 불러일으켰을 법한 작품으로서, 그 현재적 가치가 인정된다 하겠다.

영문 초록

Jajakhaengsillok(自作行實錄) is a long didactic gasa work which is presumed to be written in 1930 by Kim, Goh-hyun(1878-1943) who lived at Myeongam-ri, Yangchon-myeon, Nonsan-si. This work is creative poetry by fully accepting the contents of Gyujanggakbon Chodangmundap(草堂問答), showing that the writer tried to bind family members together by educating them, and to inquire into the management of household affairs through farming. The contents of Jajakhaengsillok are developed in the order of B a e k b a l p y e o n → O h r y u n p y e o n + C h o n g n o n j a n g → Sagunpyeon+Chonnonjang→Bubupyeon+Buinjam+Chongnonjang→ J agunpye on+Chonnonjang→J angyupye on+Chonnonjang→ Bungwupyeon+Chonnonjang→Chisanpyeon→Gyeonsinpyeon→ Wubupyeon→Yongbupyeon. Considering such a content development method, it is judged that the author might accept and create each piece of Chodangmundap in an unusual order in terms of work arrangement without being similar to whatever different versions of poetry belonging to Chodangmundap category. In accepting the contents of Chodangmundap, Jajakhaengsillok switched the development order of contents, or paraphrased contents although they are the same, or attached a passage to another passage, or sightly switched a word or ending. Meanwhile, in transforming sequence gasa into a piece of gasa, Jajakhaengsillok arranged an appropriate passage, which linked each piece, as a structural device for closely linking each piece. In terms of poetic rhythm, there appear 14 sorts of diverse rhythms, but in the center of them, 3.4 syllabic system and 4.4 syllabic system were placed, accounting for 30.08% and 65.84% of poetic rhythms, respectively. If not a layperson of Confucianism, Jajakhaengsillok is a work including contents, with which anyone can sympathize. Readers have access to earnest feelings of the author who desired to protect his family in its entirety even in the midst of the Japanese occupation period, and further to be a wealthier family. Readers can also feel the writer’s authenticity through the work, and there are many amusing expressions enough to attract readers’ interest in Jajakhaengsillok. In addition, Jajakhaengsillok is a very meaningful work which could have aroused a person’s desire to rebuild the family finances on a large scale by evoking deep sympathy, especially in case of a member of the relevant family.
