국문 초록

본 연구는 대학교수의 MOOC 개발 및 참여, MOOC가 고등교육에 미치게 될 영향, 그리고 MOOC 개발 방식에 대한 인식을 알아보고, 국내 MOOC 개발 및 운영을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울 소재 D 종합대학에서 강의 중인 교ㆍ강사 267명의 설문조사 자료를 분석하였고, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 46.8%가 교육자원 개방에 긍정적이며, 30%가 대학에서 MOOC를 개발해야 한다고 생각했다. 둘째, 24.1%의 교수가 본인 강의를 MOOC로 개발할 의향이 있었으며 개발참여 이유는 교육자원의 개방ㆍ공유ㆍ참여에 기여, 교육자로서의 사회적 책무를 중요한 이유로 제시했다. 셋째, MOOC가 고등교육에 미치게 될 영향에 대해, 대학등록금 감소, 취업시장과 재교육 시장에 영향, 학문융합 흐름 주도에 대해서는 다소 부정적인 인식을 갖고 있었고, MOOC는 사이버강의와 다르지 않으며, 단지 강의 도중 보충 동영상자료로 활용되거나 새로운 교육방법도구로 활용될 것이라고 인식하고 있었다. 넷째, MOOC 강의를 선정하는 방식으로는 희망교수자(67%), 공모방법(44.2%)을 선호했다. 다섯째, MOOC에 교수들이 참여하기 위해 우선적으로 해결되어야 할 제도적 과제는 자료 개발비 및 인센티브 제공, 수업기초자료의 저작권 문제 해결, 자료의 개발ㆍ제작을 위한 전문가의 도움 제공 순으로 나타났다. 연구결과는 출범한지 얼마 되지 않은 K-MOOC가 성공적으로 안착하기 위해 필요한 MOOC 개발과 운영에 대한 시사점을 제공하고 향후 MOOC 개발 및 연구에 실증적인 기초자료를 제공했다는 데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine perception of university professors about MOOC(Massive Open Online Courses) development and participation, the effects of MOOC on higher education and methods of MOOC development. Furthermore, this study provides basic data for the domestic MOOC development and management. For this study, questionnaires with 267 professors and instructors from D University in Seoul were analyzed. The findings are as follows: First, 46.8% of the professors were positive about opening the educational resources and 30% of them thought that universities should develop MOOC. Second, 24.1% of professors were interested in developing their lectures using MOOCs. When asked about why they wanted to participate in this development, several different responses were gathered. 26.6 % of professors wanted to contribute to opening, sharing and participating the educational resources. 18.2% of professors thought that participating in MOOC development would fulfill their social obligations as educators. 11.8% of professor used MOOC as self-learning materials. Lastly, 10.0% of the professors thought that MOOC development would contribute to improving the reputation of the universities. Third, regarding of the effects of MOOC on university education, they had a little negative view because of the reduction in university tuition(M=2.78), the impact on the employment market and the reeducation market(M=2.81) and the impact on academic convergence(M=2.82). Also, they recognized that MOOC isn t different from cyber lectures(M=3.40). Instead, it would be just used as supplementary video materials during lectures(M=3.31), or as new educational tools(M=3.30). Fourth, voluntary professor selection(67.0%) and public contests(44.2%) were the preferred methods in selecting MOOC participants. Fifth, several factors should be considered and solved to encourage professors to participate in this development. The most important factor is funding for the material development and incentive for the professors(M=4.24). Other factors include copyrights regarding basic learning materials(M=4.17) and the help of experts on the development and production of materials(M=4.05). This paper provides the information on regulation and development of MOOC to successfully stabilize the K-MOOC which has been established less than one year. Furthermore, its purpose is to provide practical information on future MOOC development and research.
