정기선 해운 얼라이언스의 전략적 제휴에 따른 네트워크 구조분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 네트워크 관점에서 컨테이너 해운 정기선사의 전략적 제휴에 따른 얼라이언스가 구성하고 있는 네트워크 구조를 SNA(Social Network Analysis)기법을 활용하여 분석하였 다. 분석범위는 2008년 글로벌 금융위기를 기점으로 2006년, 2008년, 2010년이며 당시 3대 글로벌 정기선 해운 전략적 제휴 결과인 Grand Alliance, CKYH, The new world Alliance이 다. 본 연구의 목적은 정기선 얼라이언스의 현황을 파악하고 선사들의 운항형태에 따라 구축 되고 있는 네트워크의 구조적인 특성을 분석하는데 있다. 또한 위 기간 동안 선사들의 전략적 선택에 따르는 얼라이언스 네트워크 변화를 시각화 하고자 한다. 분석 결과 3대 얼라이언 스는 좁은세상, 척도 없는 네트워크인 멱함수 법칙 등을 따르고 있으며 2008년 글로벌 금융 위기에 맞추어 적절한 대응을 해온 것으로 분석되었다. 개별 선사가 해운시장에서 독자적인 경쟁력 확보는 매우 어운 실정이며 세계 주요 선사들은 경쟁력을 갖추기 위한 규모의 경제를 확보를 위해 전략적 얼라이언스를 수행하고 있다. 따라서 국적선사들 역시 얼라이언스 참여를 위한 노력을 해야 할 것이다

영문 초록

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to understand the current status of the strategic alliance in container liner shipping and to analyze the structural characteristics of the liner alliance network constructed according to the operation of the shipping company. We also want to visualize the liner alliance network changes along with the strategic choices of shipping companies from 2006 to 2010. Research design, data, methodology : This study analyze the network structure of the liner alliance according to the strategic alliance of container shipping company in terms of network using SNA(Social Network Analysis). The scope of the analysis is based on the global financial crisis in 2008, 2006, 2008, 2010, and the Grand Alliance, CKYH and The New World Alliance, which were the result of strategic alliances of the three major liner shipping lines at that time. Results : The analysis shows that the three Alliances are following a small-world phenomenon, a scale-free network, and the power-law rules, and have responded appropriately to the global financial crisis in 2008. Conclusions : Major shipping companies are carrying out strategic alliances to secure economies of scale in order to their competitiveness. Therefore, Korean national shipping companies will also have to make various efforts to participate in the liner shipping alliance. Otherwise, nationality carriers may lose their competitiveness.
