영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze determinants of economic regional growth in Korea. Regional economic growth and inequalities have been measured by Gross Regional Domestic Products in constant price using data from the past 26 years. Five models of regional growth - 1) Regional labor growth model, 2) Regional finance growth model, 3) Local public finance model, 4) Regional SOC growth model, 5) Regional growth synthesis model - have been established. Multiple regression analysis with 22 independent variables were then used. The results of empirical analysis are as follows : (1) In the regional labor growth model, it was observed wholesale & retail workers had a higher confidence level than any other variables. (2) In the regional finance growth model, it was observed that deposit variables was the most significant factor. (3) In the local public finance model, it was observed that annual expenditure was the most significant factor. (4) In the regional SOC growth model, it was observed that the SOC variables played important roles in regional growth. (5) In the regional growth synthesis model which synthesized 4 individual models, it was observed that annual expenditures of local public finance growth model were the most significant factor in regional growth. The estimated coefficient was recorded as a "+" sign.
