영문 초록

With the accession of the five new Federal states, the economic and political parameters in the Federal Republic have changed fundamentally. So regional economic policy is, facing new challenges, to make the greatest possible contribution to achieving economic health in new Federal States. Therefore initial attempts to create a new overall concept for regional planning is urgently required. This paper first gives an overview how community project `Improvement of Regional Economic Structure` and `Structural Assistance Law respond to this challenges. And Second it checks the transferability of regional policy concept to the new Federal States. The regional policy concept of community project `Improvement of Regional Economic Structure` and `Structural Assistance Law` - investment allowances, investment subsidies - provide only relatively few jobs, pursued hitherto thus favours the regional differences and the prospects for success are generally poor. So the regional economic policy need to concentrate on the future competitive strength of regional economics. It should refer to the regional work-force and to commercial productional basics as location, economic structure, infrastructure and urban settlement.
