영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the users behaviors and to suggest the development strategies of Mt. Tonggo natural recreation forest (TNRF), which is located in Uljingun, Kyungpook province. The data were collected by interviewing 58 visitors with a constructed questionnaire. The major motivation of TNRF visitors was natural resources and quietness of forest. The activities of visitors in TNRF were resources-based activities that was well related to characteristics of recreation forest. Visitors were well satisfied with the facilities for resources-based activities; while, they were not satisfied with educational programs and activities related to adjacent mountain villages. To raise the low level of satisfaction, the development programs on TNRF should be linked with adjacent mountain villages. There was a lack of peculiar image of recreation forest as a result of that TNRF was mainly developed in collective facility district with artificial buildings. The facility area had not enough space, so that the activities of visitors could destroy the nature. The lack of cultural and educational programs, and publicity programs, and the weak linkage between a mountain village and TNRF could not contribute to increasing the income of mountain villages. As the development strategies in TNRF, first, TNRF should develop a peculiar image to differentiate from the other recreation forests with introducing a speciality facility. Second, TNRF adjacent mountain villages, Dukguri, should be developed to link TNRF. Third, cultural and educational programs should be launched and the publicity on the programs should be put effort.
