영문 초록

This paper aims to classify rural area in Korea based upon the assessment of the character of spatial structure of rural area for a desirable direction of rural development. For that purpose, the main contents of this paper is consists of the character analysis of rural area and the classification of rural area based on rural character. And analytic tool as approach method of this paper is used Principle Component Analysis and Cluster Analysis and Discriminant Analysis. The character of spatial structure of rural area as the conclusion of this study is divided into 6 types finally. And this paper present the direction of rural development suitable for the type of spatial structure of rural area classified by the difference of character of rural area.
