영문 초록

This paper aims to examine the recent development of economic activities of small and medium enterprises, and suggest the various kinds of measures for the promotion of small and medium enterprises in Seongnam Region. In spite of reinforcing the supports for small business until now, most of small business have not got out of financial difficulties. It is obvious that various supporting policies for small business can be enhanced the effectiveness on the assumption that small and medium enterprises make every effort far self-help. Unless the problems of adverse selection and moral hazard could be solved in case of supporting the small business being in a great difficulties, various supports could not be realized for small business, rather it might be resulted in supports for the owners of small business. Therefore, it is needed that the supporting policies for small business should be changed from direct to indirect supporting system. And in order to have substantial effects from indirect supporting policies for small business, it goes without saying that the functions and roles of local university, the Seongnam chamber of commerce and industry, and local government should be consolidated more and more.
