영문 초록

The purpose of this study is as follows : 1) to summarize the problems ocurred during the reintegration process in the reunified Germany, 2) to analyze the major reintegration policies implemented during the last two years after German reunification, and 3) to propose the desirable policy guidelines for the reunification of Korea, which will occur in the near future. This research is implemented through my field experience in 1991 and literature survey such as journals, newspaper and a lot of Government publications. The German reunification has brought various kinds of political, economic, social and cultural problems in the old West-Germany as well as in the East-Germany. In order to improve or to solve the above problems, the German Government has made a great deal of effort from the institutional and investment viewpoints. Now, after 5 years of the reunification, a good prospective for the bright German future begins to be expected. The direct application of the German reunification experience to Korea is maybe not suitable, but the German experience would be very helpful, if the difference between Korea and Germany could be deeply considered from the political, economic, social and cultural points of view.
