초등학교 교사의 다문화역량에 관한 인식 분석

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 초등학교 교사의 다문화역량을 알아보기 위한 것이며, 연구대상은 경남 김해지역에 근무하는 171명의 초등학교 교사들이다. 자료는 자가기입식 설문지를 사용하여 수집하였으며, 분석방법은 t-test, one way ANOVA, Scheffe test, pearson correlation coefficient를 사용하였다. 연구결과, 다문화역량은 평균 3.98점으로 높게 나타났는데, 다문화역량의 하위요인인 다문화지식은 4.03점, 다문화태도 는 3.98점, 그리고 다문화기술은 3.92점으로 나타났다. 다문화역량은 다문화교육(연수) 경험, 교직경력, 해외여행(연수) 경험에 따라 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 또한, 다문화지식과 다문화태도는 다문화 기술과 유의한 정적 상관관계가 있었다. 따라서 학교교육 관계기관에서는 초등교사의 다문화역량 강화를 위한 지속적이고 내실 있는 교육 및 연수를 통해 다문화교수 효능감을 향상시켜야 할 것이다. 또한 초등 교사의 다문화교수 효능감을 개발하기 위해서는 이들의 다문화역량과 다문화와 관련된 배경지식이 측정되어져야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to identify the multicultural competency of elementary school teachers. The participants of this study were 171 elementary school teachers in Kimhae city, Gyeongnam Province. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires and analyzed with the SPSSWIN 22.0 program. Analysis methods were t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe test, and Pearson correlation coefficient. As a result, multicultural competency was an average 3.98 points which is considered high. Multicultural knowledge of the sub-factors of multicultural competency was 4.03 points, multicultural attitude was 3.98 points and multicultural skill was 3.92 points. Multicultural competency had statistically significant differences according to multicultural education(training) experience, teaching career, overseas travel (training) experience. Multicultural knowledge and multicultural attitude had a significant correlation with multicultural skill. Consequently, schools and other educational institutions should improve the multicultural teaching efficacy through continuous and fruitful education and training to strengthen the multicultural competency of elementary school teachers. Also, their multicultural competency and the background knowledge associated with multiple cultures should be measured in order to develop the multicultural teaching efficacy of elementary school teachers
