국문 초록

『源氏物語』の作者が紫式部であることは『紫式部日記』という作品を通して知られている。『源氏物語』の存在が文献上確認されている例も『紫式部日記』の用例が一番早い。『このわたりに、わかむらささやさぶらふ」という『紫式部日記』の記事により、私たちは『源氏物語』を千年の物語と呼んでいるし、作者の名前の由来も確認する。2008年を、源氏物語千年紀と呼び、様々な形で記念したのも、この『紫式部日記』における藤原公任の発言が根拠であった。 にもかかわらず、『源氏物語』と『紫式部日記』とを一緒に取り扱うとき、非常にややこしい問題が引き起こされる可能性は常に潜んでいる。例えば語り手という手法に関わる物語固有の問題が挙げられる。従って、従来、研究の場で『源氏物語』を論ずる時、作者の問題はややもすれば控え目にされがちであった。しかしテクスト論と作家論の歩み寄り、そして古典文学加工の場における作家に密着した享受の仕方の膨らみ、などの影響か、最近になっては、作家にあまりにも密着した‘読み’が学問側からも出始めている。本稿では以上のような作家論の意義と問題を確認しながら、その傾向を端的に表す作品『私が源氏物語を書いたわけ』の持つ、学問的な意義、文化論的な諸問題について考察してみた。

영문 초록

Murasaki-Shikibu, the author of “the Tale of Genji,” is well-known through the literary work “the Diary of Lady Murasaki.” This work contains the first attested mention of “the Tale of Genji.” Owing to the entry of the diaries “Is there Waka-Murasaki around here?” we call “the Tale of Genji” a 1000- year story, and the origin of her name is also identified. The year 2008 marked the monumental year called “the Tale of Genji, the millennium,” and this was based on Fujiwara-no-Kinto’s remark in “the Diary of Lady Murasaki.” Nevertheless, when we address “the Tale of Genji” together with “the Diary of Lady Murasaki,” we encounter daunting problems. For instance, there is a problem specific to narratives, concerning “katarite” (narrator). Accordingly, there has been a tendency that the issue of author is set aside when “the Tale of Genji” is discussed. Recent years, however, have seen the new form of research that focuses on the author, presumably because of the recent interaction between theories of text and theories of author as well as the expansion of works which process the classical literature with special reference to writers. In this paper, as described above, we confirm the significance of the theory of writer in terms of academic significance and cultural problems detected in “the reason why I wrote the Tale of Genji” a work manifesting such a trend.
