영문 초록

This study explores whether English teachers' professionalism affects their students' efficiency in learning English. Four primary English teachers in South Korea taught their students a particular chapter in the same English textbook. They video-recorded their own teaching for a month; then a group of primary English teachers and professors watched the videos and evaluated how professional each teacher was. To measure how well the students learned English from their English teachers, we administered a pretest before the teaching, a posttest immediately after the teaching, and a delayed posttest five months later, and compared the three tests with each other. The results show that the students from the least professional teacher showed the least improvement, which suggests that teachers' professionalism did affect their students' efficiency in learning English.
