국문 초록

관광산업은 IT산업에 기반한 고용없는 성장시대에 고용창출 효과가 높고, 고부가가치의 성장잠재력을 지닌 미래 유망산업으로서 세계 각국은 관광산업을 국가전략산업으로 육성하고, 경쟁적 우위를 선점하기 위해 치열한 경쟁을 벌이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내 관광산업의 발전을 위해서는 외국인직접투자(FDI: Foreign Direct Investment)의 유치가 절대적으로 필요하다는 인식하에 국내 관광산업의 FDI를 활성화시키기 위하여 타 산업에 비해서 수익성과 성장성이 낮고, 회임기간이 긴 것으로 평가받고 있는 관광산업이 과연 그러한 경제적 제약조건을 지니고 있는지를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 FDI 기업과 관광산업의 수익성 및 성장성을 비교ㆍ분석함과 동시에 위험-수익상쇄관계(risk-return trade-off)에 기초하여, 투자에 대한 위험성과 관련된 심층적인 분석을 병행함으로써 관광산업으로의 FDI 유치를 활성화시킬 수 있는 경제적 인센티브와 전략적 대응방안을 제시하였다. 그리고 이를 통해 투자재원의 부족으로 만성적인 침체를 겪고 있는 국내 인바운드 관광산업의 활성화를 위한 계기를 마련하고자 하였다.

영문 초록

This paper investigated the return, growth, and risk of Korean FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) companies and tourism corporations seeking to find methods of Korean tourism FDI reinvigoration Financial ratio data from 2000 to 2005, various proxy variables, risk measures, internal growth rates and sustainable growth rates building on Higgins (1981) model were used The analyzed returns examined the ratio of net profit to net sales, ROA, and ROE In addition, we compared risks using the Domar & Musgrave risk index, variance and semi variances of Korean FDI companies and tourism corporations. Internal growth rates and sustainable growth rates represented the maximum rate of sales or asset growth tint a firm can support using both internally generated funds and debt These ideas laue gained increasing prominence as key financial and operating concepts in recent years. As a result, returns and past real growth rates of Korean tourism corporations are less than Korean foreign direct investment companies. However, the internal growth rate and sustainable growth rate of Korean tourism corporations is more than Korean foreign direct investment companies. Moreover, the risk of Korean tourism corporations is less than Korean foreign direct investment companies and all manufacturing companies. Korean manufacturing companies possessed the highest risk if all company types. Finally, these results can be used to activate in FDI of the Korean tourism industry.
