국문 초록

본 연구는 최근 부각되고 있는 신교통수단을 도입하여 지역관광활성화 방안을 도출하기 위한 연구이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 신교통수단에 대한 국내외 사례를 찾아 관광교통적 측면에서 도입가능성과 시사점, 지역관광 활성화 방안을 분석하였다 특히 국내외 사례를 통해 전북지역 교통의 중심지이자 도시관광의 거점지역인 전주와 익산, 군산 새만금 지역을 연결한 지역관광활성화 방안을 찾기 위해 문제점과 대책, 발전 방안을 집중 조명하였다. 하지만 연구결과에서 우리나라의 경우 신교통수단이라 할 수 있는 경전철에 대해 대중교통 차원에서 경제적 효익성 측면만 부각된 채 관광교통수단으로 연구와 실행, 활용사례가 부족하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 신교통수단은 대중교통 활성화를 위한 교통수단 뿐 아니라 관광교통수단으로 통합적 경제성을 찾아야 되며, 신교통수단을 도입할 경우 관광교통수단으로 초기부터 관광적 가치와 지역관광활성화 방안을 적용해 도입해야할 것으로 분석됐다. 본 연구에서는 신교통수단이 국내외 관광객을 집객 할 수 있는 관광교통수단으로 활용될 수 있도록 관광과 교통의 연관성을 찾아 도입 접근방식과 시사점, 활성화 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Recently, the issue on advanced transit system has generated discussion and studies aimed at revitalization regional tourism research. Therefore, in this research, the local and foreign practices in terms of tourism transportation were analyzed to find possibilities and implications in activating local tourism. In particular, the domestic and foreign practices in regional transport hubs and tourist areas in the three connecting cities of North Jeolla, Jeonju City, Iksan City and Gunsan City, were studied to find local tourism developments, problems and countermeasures. However, the study found out that while the new means of transportation in Korea, which is the light rail system, has economic benefits generally, there is a lack of research and practice in terms of what means transportation can strengthen tourism. In addition, there is a need to find out if a public means of transportation which is at the same time an economical means of new transportation for tourists will enable and activate local tourism. Finally, this study suggests that further studies be done on the connection between tourism and transportation and the approaches and implications it has in attracting both local and foreign tourists.
