내러티브 접근을 통한 영재학급 교사의 수업경험 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 영재학급을 담당하면서 수업에 참여하고 있는 세 명의 교사들이 영재수업 과정에서 어떠한 경험을 하며, 그 경험은 어떤 의미를 가지는가를 탐색해보는 내러티브 탐구이다. 연구 대상자로 선정된 교사들은 D광역시 교육청 내 영재학급을 운영하고 있으며 연구참여자에 따라 영재교육 경험의 차이는 어느 정도 가지고 있다. 본 연구를 통해 나타난 영재수업 경험의 의미는 첫째, 영재수업 경험은 다른 일반수업과는 다른 특성을 가지고 있으며 둘째, 그러한 경험을 통해 나타난 영재수업은 그 특별함 속에서도 영재수업이 반드시 지향해야 할 점은 협력과 인성적 측면이라는 것을 교사들은 중요하게 생각하고 있고 셋째, 영재학급을 운영하기 위해서는 교사가 영재교육의 전문성을 가지기 위한 스스로의 노력이 반드시 필요한 수업이라는 것을 강하게 경험하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 경험을 이야기하고 나누는 가운데 교사들은 영재수업 수업 운영에 있어 자신의 위치와 역할을 재인식하게 되고 기존에 겪었던 갈등을 ‘교실 안의 장소’에서 ‘교실 바깥의 장소’로 가져 나와 보다 적극적이고 안정적인 영재교육과정의 개발과 운영을 모색하도록 하는데 도움을 주었다는데 본 연구의 교육적 의미가 있다.

영문 초록

The study is a narrative inquiry to examine experiences of three elementary school teachers who are also participating in gifted class curriculum and implication of their experiences. Teachers selected as study subjects are currently teaching gifted classes in the department of education of D metropolitan city, and the study participants have a certain degree of difference in gifted training experiences. The implication of the gifted class experiences show through the study is as follows: first, gifted classes have different characteristics from that of general classes; second, the teachers put importance on that nevertheless, gifted classes must aim for cooperation and personality aspects; third, the teachers feel intensely that they must make efforts to serve gifted class professionalism in order to operate gifted classes. The study is meaningful in education that it allowed teachers to share their experiences and recognized their positions and roles in operating gifted classes and also helped them to reveal conflicts they experienced, thereby enabling them to operate and develop positive and stable gifted curriculums from the existing “place in the classroom” to the “place outside the classroom”.
