국문 초록

본 연구는 중증장애인의 자립생활 과정과 결과를 규명하고, 발견된 결과를 통해 중증장애인의 자립생활 과정과 유형을 설명하는 실체이론을 개발하고자 실시되었다. 본 연구의 연구문제는 "장애인활동지원서비스를 통한 중증장애인의 자립생활 과정과 결과는 어떠한가?"로 Strauss와 Corbin(1998)의 근거이론 방법을 적용하여 수행되었다. 분석결과, 개방코딩에서는 130개의 개념과 41개의 하위범주, 16개의 범주가 도출되었다. 축 코딩에서 패러다임에 의한 범주 분석결과 중심현상은 '단절의 늪에서 허우적거리기'였다. 중증장애인들은 인지의 단계, 직면의 단계, 자각과 도전의 단계, 가치실현 단계의 4단계를 거치면서 자립생활을 경험하게 된다. 자립생활 과정의 핵심범주는 '단절의 늪에서 벗어나 보통사람들처럼 살아가면서 삶의 의미 되찾아가기'로 나타났으며, 핵심범주를 중심으로 자립생활 과정의 유형은 개인지향 개척형, 현실수용 적응형, 관계지향 도약형의 3가지 유형으로 분석되었다. 분석결과를 토대로 개인 차원, 가족ㆍ지역사회 차원, 국가 차원에서의 논의를 하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims at looking into result of the independent living process of people with severe disabilities and at developing the actual theory which explains the process and pattern related to independent living of people with severe disabilities. The subject of this study, performed by applying to grounded theoretical method of Strauss and Corbin(1998), was "What are the results and of independent living process of people with severe disabilities?" As a result of the analysis, this study drew, from open coding, 130 concepts, 41 sub-categories, and 16 categories. This study analyzed the process of participants' independent living and found that it was composed of four stages such as stage of recognition, stage of confrontation, stage of self-awareness and challenge, and stage of value realization. On the basis of the results, this study suggested discussion. The suggestions in the department of policy at the levels of respective persons, family, regional society, and nation are as followings.
