영문 초록

The purpose of this review is to analyse research trends on 223 articles(excluding research notes) published from 1998 through 2006(Feb.), in Journal of Foodservice Management Society of Korea. Although it would not deal with all issues recognized by practitioners and researchers, conducting such review of analysis provides significant cutting-edge information to readers in the middle of evolution in this academic area. The whole investigation periods of nine-years was divided by three which include three-years on each. The contents analysis was proceeded, in particular, on researchers' formation, research themes, and research format by periods. Out of 223 articles, 109(48.9%) was administered by a single author and this rate seemed to decrease by the passage of periods. Although eight themes have been identified in this current review, four themes; strategic operation(30.5%), food and beverage(18.8%), service quality and customers(17.9%), and human resource management(14.3%), were occupied approximately 80%. During the first three years, theoretical researches(44.1%) were main format used by researchers, however, as time went on, empirical researches using a type of questionnaire were increased and reached to 80.5% at the last three years. Academicians should continue to conduct research in these areas in an effort to provide industry practitioners with information which can be utilized in the operations.
