영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to learn more in-depth about the characteristics of the convention-service employees at hotels(hotel convention service employees), particularly on their job stressors in terms of perception of job characteristics and organizational characteristics. From a total of 140 questionnaires distributed, 120 were used by SPSS 12.00 for factor analysis, regression analysis, T-test, and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The analysis showed the statistically significant difference only in the perception of job importance by the educational level, while the perception of others' recognition showed significant difference only by educational level. It was also found that the perception of job characteristics, including the job autonomy, job overload, and role conflicts had significant influences over job stressors while no perception of organizational characteristics had influence over job stress. In conclusion, the study is meaningful for it may show how convention-service employees at hotels may be similar and/or different from other convention-service employees working at different types of organization, such as PCO employees and professional convention facility employees so that it can prepare hotel human resource personnel to design appropriate human resource strategies for hotel convention-service employees that may be different from one for hotel employees. This is important and inevitable for the betterment of hotel convention service, and eventually for the success of hotel conventions.
