국내 환대관광관련 전공 대학원생들의 연구윤리 지식수준 및 연구 부정행위 인식 연구

국문 초록

2005년 황우석 교수사건 이래로 우리 사회에서 연구윤리에 대한 많은 관심과 연구윤리 확보 노력이 이루어지고 있으나 여전히 연구윤리문화는 우리 연구공동체에 정착되지 못하고 있다. 본 연구는 환대관광분야 수도권 4개 주요 대학원 298명의 대학원생을 대상으로 연구윤리 지식수준과 연구부정행위에 대한 인식을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 먼저 대학원생들의 연구윤리 지식습득의 필요성과 연구윤리의 실천 필요성은 높게 나타났으며, 성별, 결혼, 연령, 풀타임학생 여부, 학회발표/학회지 논문게재 경험 여부 및 업계근무 경험 여부에서 그룹들 간 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 연구윤리의 지식수준은 정답비율이 16.1∼77.9%로 폭넓게 나타나 높지 않은 것으로 분석되었다. 셋째, 연구 부정행위의 원인으로는 성과위주의 연구지원, 부정행위를 대수롭지 않게 여기는 사회문화, 연구자 자신의 윤리의식 순으로, 구체적인 연구 부정행위로는 논문 표절, 연구 아이디어 도용, 연구데이터나 결과 위조, 연구 데이터나 결과 변조 순으로 많이 나타났다. 응답자의36.8%가 연구수행과정 중 연구부정행위와 관련해서 고민한 경험이 있으며, 구체적인 고민으로는 자료의 수집/분석/해석, 저자 등재, 연구대상, 부정행위고발 순으로 많이 나타났다. 연구과정에서의 갈등 해결방식에서는 대학이나 연구기관 내의 다른 사람에게 자문을 통한 해결, 본인의 판단에 의한 해결, 대학이나 연구기관 외의 다른 사람에게 자문을 통한 해결, 미해결 순으로 많이 나타났으며, 향후 연구윤리 상담 창구가 만들어질 경우에 이용여부에서는 91.7%가 이용하겠다고 답변하였다.

영문 초록

Many researchers have still unconcerned about the research ethics even though the interest of research ethics has been increased in our society since Hwang` scandal in 2005. This study examined the level of knowledge of research ethics and perception toward research misconduct of graduate students in hospitality and tourism management. Surveying 298 students of four major graduate schools, the study found that the level of necessity of knowing and practicing research ethics were high, and that statistically significant differences were shown on gender, marriage, full time students, presentation publication of papers, and job experience variables. Areas that showed difficulty in understanding were authorship criteria and duplicated publication. Reasons for research misconduct turned out to be research funding based on research output, research culture, and the low level of research ethics among researchers in that order. Specific types of research misconduct were shown to be plagiarism, steal of others, research ideas, and fabrication & falsification of research results in that order. Approximately 37% of respondents experienced ethical conflicts in conducting research. Major concerns were data handling, authorship criteria, and research subjects. Most respondents answered they would be willing to consult an ombudsman, if available.
