국문 초록

본 연구는 국내 경찰공무원을 대상으로 외상사건의 유형과 PTSD 증상간의 관계를 파악하고, 외상사건에 따른 PTSD 증상에서 대처양식의 조절효과를 가지는지를 탐색하고자 하였다. 최근에는 천재지변, 교통사고, 산업재해사고, 강간, 조직폭력 등 다양한 사건의 희생자들과 경찰공무원, 소방공무원 같은 위기 상황에 노출되기 쉬운 집단들의 외상후 스트레스 장애에 대한 연구가 증가되고 있는 실정이다. 경찰공무원들은 업무에 있어서 외상사건에 자주 노출되고, 외상후 스트레스 장애에서 높은 위험에 영향을 받는다. 경찰공무원을 대상으로 한 연구들에 의하면 최근에 위기상황을 경험한 경찰공무원 중 많은 수가 심각한 스트레스를 받고 있으며, 건강, 조기 퇴직, 부정적 가족관계 등에 상당한 영향을 미치는 외상후 스트레스 장애 증상을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 분석결과 외상성 사건의 개수와 충격정도는 PTSD 증상 및 우울에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 특히 외상성 사건 개수보다 주관적인 충격 정도가 더 큰 영향력을 보였다. 마지막으로 경찰공무원의 외상후 스트레스 장애에 대한 대책으로 외상후 스트레스 장애 의심 및 취약 경찰공무원의 관리, 사회적 지지망의 강화, 근로자 지원프로그램의 활용, 위기상황 스트레스 관리의 도입, 외상후 스트레스 장애 교육관리 실시를 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to carry out the relation of a type of traumatic events and Post traumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD) symptoms of police officers. There is increasing interest in other groups who are susceptible like victims of disaster, motor vehicle accidents, industrial disaster, rape, organized crime and police officers, fire fighters. Police officers are frequently exposed to traumatic events at work, yielding higher risk for PTSD. Nevertheless, research on psychological factors of PTSD symptoms among police officers in korea is lacking. According to studies, a large number of police officers who had recently been exposed to a critical incident has severe stress and post traumatic stress disorder symptoms impact on health, early retirement, negative family relationships. Results indicated that experience of traumatic event events caused the PTSD symptoms and depression. Especially, subjective amount of shock of traumatic events in PTSD symptoms and depression. Finally, I suggested some countermeasures. I presented the management of police officers who are suffering and vulnerable to post traumatic stress disorder, the reinforcement of social support net, the application of employee assistance programs, the introduction of critical incident stress traumatic, the training of management techniques for post traumatic stress disorder.
