京畿 坐唱의 發生과 存在 樣相

국문 초록

본고는 19-20세기 경기지역의 도시문화를 중심으로 발생했던 경기 좌창에 주목했다. 경기 坐唱은 사설이 길어서 긴잡가라고도 하고, 앉아서 부르는 노래라고 해서 앉은소리라고도 한다. 이와 같은 坐唱은 경기 잡가의 하나로서, 京畿 雜歌는 가창방식에 따라서 坐唱과 立唱으로 나뉜다. 여기에서는 경기 잡가 중에서도 좌창의 발생과 존재 양상에 대해서 살폈다. 먼저, 사계축을 중심으로 발생했던 경기 좌창의 師承圖를 정리하고 경기 좌창의 발생지로 지목되고 있는 四契의 지역적 특징을 살핌으로써 경기 좌창이 발생할 수 있었던 지역ㆍ문화적 배경을 확인했다. 그리고 유성기 음반에 취입된 좌창을 정리해서 20세기 좌창의 유행 양상을 확인했다. 또한, 박춘재의 활동을 중심으로 좌창이 대중화되어 가는 양상을 살펴보았다. 지금까지 잡가 연구는 좌창과 입창에 대한 구분 없이 진행되었다. 그리고 입창과 좌창은 각각 가창 방식과 향유층에서 차이를 보였기 때문에 선행 연구에서는 서로 다른 향유기반을 구축했을 것으로 추정했다. 하지만 경기 좌창의 발생과 존재 양상을 살펴본 결과 좌창과 입창은 가창 공간과 수용층의 차이는 있었지만, 그것이 곧 가창자의 차이를 말하는 것은 아니었다. 즉, 가창자는 좌창과 입창의 구분 없이 자신의 역량에 맞춰서 다양한 레퍼토리의 노래를 師事받았으며, 이와 같은 가창자의 역량은 20세기에 들어서 점차 가창자 뿐만이 아니라 가창공간과 수용층의 경계까지도 허무는 결과를 낳았다.

영문 초록

This study is focused on Gyeonggi Jwachang which was arose in urbiculture of Gyeonggi region as a center. Its narration is long, so it's called a long Jabga or a Jwachang, as it was sung sitting. The Jwachang is a kind of Gyeonggi Jabga, and it is divided into a Jwachang and a Ipchang. This study surveyed the origin and the aspect of Gyeonggi Jwachang. First, this study arranged the genealogy of teaching succession of Geonggi Jwachang which has arisen at Sagyaechook as a center, and verified the regional and cultural background that Geonggi Jwachang could has arisen by surveying regional characteristics of Sagyaechook which is pointed as the place of origin of Gyeonggi Jwachang. And the existential aspect of Jwachang in the 20th century could be verified by arranging the status of Jwachang recorded with gramophone. Also, its popularization in 20th century was verified with the activity of Park, Choonjae as a center. Until now the studies on Jabga were processed without distinction of Jwachang or Ipchang. And it is presumed that they were established on the different footing of each other, because there are differences in the singing method and enjoying class of each other. On the result of surveying the origin and existing aspect of Gyeonggi Jwachang, though there were differences in singing space and receiving class, that does not mean even the difference in singers. That is, singers were taught according to their capability without the distinction of Jwachang or Ipchang, and even the demarcation of singing space and consumer class were disappeared gradually in the 20th century due to the ability of singers' like that.
