대규모 종합대학교의 단과대학별 교육원가 차이 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 재학생 2만명이상 대규모 종합대학교를 사례로 단과대학별 교육원가를 산출하고 교육원가 차이를 비교 분석함으로써 등록금 책정 등 대학경영의 개선에 필요한 시사점을 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 선행연구에 대한 검토결과를 토대로 대학의 교육원가 분석모형을 선정하고, C대학교의 2012학년도 결산자료를 토대로 단과대학별 학생당 및 학점당 교육원가를 산출하고 교육원가차이도와 등록금차이도, 교육원가환원율과 현금지출원가환원율 등을 비교분석하였다. C대학교의 16개 단과대학별 학생당ㆍ학점당 교육원가를 분석한 결과, 수의 과대학과 약학대학의 학생당 교육원가 수준이 가장 높은 반면, 경영대학과 사회과학대학의 학생당 교육원가 수준이 가장 낮았다. 학생당 총 교육원가차이도를 분석한 결과 경영대학을 1.00으로 볼 때 약학대학은 4.39, 수의과대학은 3.40이었다. 반면 등록금차이도는 경영대학이 1.00일 때 약학대학과 수의과대학은 각각 1.82와 1.29 수준이었다. 교육원가 분석결과를 토대로 대학경영에 주는 시사점을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학 등록금 책정시 단과대학별 학생당 현금지출원가차이도와 총 교육원가차이도를 반영할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 단과대학별 졸업이수학점 등을 고려할 때 대학 등록금 책정시 학점당 교육원가차이도를 적극 반영할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 상대적으로 학생당 교육원가가 높은 단과대학의 경우 높은 원가의 원인을 점검하고 원가를 낮추기 위한 방안을 유도할 필요가 있다. 넷째, 교육원가 분석 결과는 원가가 높은 학과에 대한 부적강제정책보다는 원가가 낮은 학과에 대한 정적 지원정책을 시행하는 방안으로 활용할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to set up the analysis model of college educational costs, to compute the educational costs per student and per credit, and to analyze the cost difference ratio by colleges of large-scale comprehensive university. To do research, the financial settlement data in 2012 were used and 16 colleges of the "C" university were analyzed. The results of this study are follows. First, the educational costs per student and per credit were the highest in the college of medicine and college of veterinary, while they were the lowest in the college of management and college of social studies. Especially, educational costs per student in college of medicine and college of veterinary were higher than that in college of management each by 4.39 times and by 3.40 times. However, tuition fees in college of medicine and college of veterinary were higher than that in college of management each only by 1.82 times and by 1.29 times. Based on the results, I suggested that tuition fee needs to be related with the actual cost difference ratio by colleges. So tuition fees in the college of medicine and college of veterinary need to increase more than at present. Second, college of education and college of art were not the highest in total educational costs per student and per credit, but were the highest in the lecture-related costs per student and per credit. There are the reasons which were class size, student number of double majors, and so on. So, they have to be more specifically investigated. The university has to urge the colleges to try to decrease the educational costs and gradually increase the tuition fee.
