국문 초록

이 연구는 자생테러범의 급진과격화에 대한 프로파일링을 통하여 자생테러범의 동기 및 특징을 모색하는 데 있다. 자생테러란 이슬람 및 급진주의적 사고에 관련된 시민권자가 자신들의 신념과 종교 등을 내세우며, 자신들의 국가를 공격하는 행위로 자살테러의 형태를 띠기도 한다. 2005년 런던테러 및 호주테러 등 서방에서는 끊임없이 자생테러가 발생하고 있다. 테러는 한 국가의 사회, 법률, 그리고 문화정책에 대한 도전적인 한 반응이라는 점에서 정치적 폭력행위라 할 수 있다. 자생테러범의 특징은 특정 국가의 정책 및 문화, 입법, 종교 등에 불만을 품은 시민들이 자신들의 불만을 테러로 표현한다는 점이며, 서방에서 주로 발생하고 있다. 자생테러범은 대부분 이슬람계 이민자의 2세대 또는 3세대이다. 이들은 중산층 자녀로 평범한 성장기를 보냈지만, 결국 이슬람에 심취하면서 지하드가 되는 것으로 나타났다. 이들의 지하드화를 촉진하는 것은 인터넷과 이슬람국가 여행 및 거주지 주변의 모스크인 것으로 밝혀졌다. 그런데 자생테러범은 예비 급진과격화 , 자아인식, 신념화, 무장투쟁 전사화 등의 단계를 거쳐 테러를 감행하는 것으로 분석된다. 서방국가들은 자생테러리즘을 극복하는 방법을 연구하고, 공조체제를 갖추려 노력하지만, 각 국이 처한 다양한 상황과 문제가 다르기 때문에 동일한 해결책을 찾기가 쉽지 않다. 자생 테러리즘에 대한 대응은 공조체제가 필수적이다. 우리나라 역시 특수한 남북관계 및 한미동맹, 한·유럽 연합자유무역협정 등을 고려할 때 자생테러에 대한 서방의 대응책을 연구하고, 공조체제를 강화할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the characteristics and motivations of homegrown terrorists through Radicalization profiling. Homegrown terrorism is attack their country by commonly associated with their beliefs and religion. Almost homegrown terrorism is related to Islam and radicalism in Western Europe and the United States. There are constantly so many homegrown terrorism occurred at Western Europe and the United States as 2005 London terror terrorism, the 2005 Australian terror etc. Terrorism is political violent reaction to a country's social, legal, and cultural policy. most homegrown terrorists have dissatisfaction with their country. Add to they feel a sense of alienation and discrimination to community society. Especially those are most second-generation or third-generation from Islam nations. And their parents are middle class. Also they have normal childhood, even westernized. But mosques in Islam community give Jihad motivation to them. Especially they collect information about conflicts between western countries and Islam nations from internet. Above of traveling Pakistan, Iraq and other muslim countries also promoted Radicalization. They received military training in the travel. Muslim Radicalization have four steps to be homegrown terrorists like Pre-Radicalization, Self-Identification, Indoctrination and Jihadization. This is research on muslim Radicalization of London cluster and Virginia Jihad Network. Western nations and the United States should be working against homegrown terrorist. policies Should have the same direction. Also inevitably there shall be no religious discrimination in the community. Korea also must prepare research for Homegrown terrorism and policy responses.
