국문 초록

본 연구는 아시아 국가 10개국을 상대로 각각의 삶의 만족도 정도를 살펴보고, 삶의 만족도와 주관적인 부패인식 정도가 어떤 관계에 있는지 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 아시아 국가 국민들이 자국의 부패 정도를 어느 정도로 심각하게 인식하고 있는지 검토하여, 부패인식에 영향을 주는 핵심 변수를 다중회귀분석을 통해 실증적으로 살펴본 것이다. 본 연구는 미국 ICPSR(Interuniversity Consortium for Political and Social Research)에서 Asian-Barometer(2003)를 다운받아 2차 자료로 활용했고, 총 10개국의 표본 수는 8,086명이었다. 통계분석 결과, 개인의 국가주의 태도와 경제적 지위 만족도가 부패 인식점수와 유의미한 양의 정적 관계를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이하 본문에서 분석결과의 정책적 의미에 대해 논의한다.

영문 초록

This study aims at identifying the impact of personal characteristics on perceived corruption in ten of Asian countries. In addition, it is designed to seek relationships between levels of life satisfaction and subjective evaluation of corruption in Asian countries. By using regression analysis, this study investigates the impact of life satisfaction on the perception of corruption and compares the differences among the ten Asian countries. Specifically, multiple regressions are used to analyze the data, with variables measuring life satisfaction and perceived corruption. This study employs the Interuniversity Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) web-site to download the data of Asia-Barometer 2003, which was created by the University of Tokyo and the Japanese Foundation Asia Center. The survey was conducted from June 2003 to September 2003. The total number of respondents is 8,086 from ten different Asian countries. In result, nationalism and satisfaction with economic status showed a positive association with corruption perception. Specific discussions about the result are presented in the main text.
