국문 초록

이 논문에서 우리는 글로컬 시대의 철학이 천착하고 또 지향해야 할 방향이 무엇인지를 거시적으로 제시하면서 한국철학의 정체성, 현주소를 점검해보는 자리를 마련해보는데 연구목표를 두었다. 이를 위해 서론에서는 현대철학의 지형도 변화를 설명하면서, 차이와 타자를 배제의 대상이 아니라 교류, 소통의 대상으로 포용할 수 있는 새로운 논리를 통해 철학이 일반적으로 기대고 있는 서구유럽적 보편성, 보편주의를 문화적 상대성, 특수성과의 관계 속에서 새롭게 조명해보았다. 그리고 본론에서는‘glocalization’(국내에서‘세계지역화’로 번역하고 있는)에 대한 새로운 번역과 해석(‘지역세계화’)을 통해 시장경제의 세계화나 문화의 세계화도 문제지만 특히 지식의 세계화를 미연에 막기 위해 대한민국의 철학계에서 고민하고 또 풀어야 할 과제가 무엇인지에 대해 적시해보았다. 마지막 결론에서는 모든 철학은 기본적으로 지역성을 반영하고 있기 때문에(독일철학, 프랑스철학, 영미철학 등), 한국철학도 이제는 우리의 삶-생활 연관적 지역성을 살려야만 하고, 그렇지 못하면 보편성/특수성에도, 지역성/세계성에도 다다를 수 없다는‘화두’를 던져보았다. 본 연구를 통해 우리는 모든 철학에도 문화적 색깔이 상존한다는 점을 확인할수 있었다. 미국, 프랑스, 독일 등 경제∙문화강국일수록 그렇다. 게다가 현대에 이르러서는, 19세기에‘과학’이 그랬던 것처럼,‘경제’가 모든 학문 영역을 좌지우지 한다. 사유-자유의 추구를 본질로 하는 철학이‘과거의 죽은 보편성’에 빠져 소일 할 수 없는 이유이다. 이 시대가 요구하는 보편성은 ‘로컬들’을 넘나들 수 있는 보편성이어야 하며, 그때 비로소 철학은 소수자에게만 이로운 것이 아니라 온 인류에게 봉사하는 공공성을 살릴 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

In this article, we intend to propound macroscopically the adequate direction of Korean philosophy, which is inquired in the age of glocalization, by presenting the identity and current position of it. Firstly, a new logic which embraces difference and other-ness as objects of exchange and communication, not objects of elimination, is proposed. In this perspective, the western european universality and universalism, in relation with the cultural relativity and cultural speciality, is also examined, along with explaining the change of the topographic map of contemporary philosophy. Secondly, we discuss the problem of glocalization (interpreted as 'localization of global' in Korea) of the market economy and culture, in order to highlight the danger of the globalization of knowledge. It is also argued that the task of Korean philosophy is to avoid this danger, through a new interpretation and translation of glocalization as 'globalization of local'. Finally, in conclusion, we argue that Korean philosophy must vitalize the locality related to life-living of its own, to establish the Korean indigenous perspectives of universality/speciality, locality/globality. It is imperative to consider that what we call 'philosophy' in the academic world, fundamentally, reflects it's own locality, as German philosophy, French philosophy, and Anglo-American philosophy, etc. Through this study, we find every philosophy connotes its own cultural color, as is remarkable in the economic and cultural super-power countries, like USA, France, Germany, etc. Moreover, as 19th century’s science did, economy overwhelms every region of studies. This is why philosophy, that pursues thought-freedom, should not flounder in the realm of dead universality. Thus, it is not until the concept of the contemporary universality crosses over locals that philosophy can revitalize its public nature by serving not a few but whole mankind.
